Yeah it must be a new Harvey. I miss the old Harvey. Screw it, we should just bring Scorchy to Calgary.

Was at the Dome on Monday night and although the first period was pretty quiet the crowd volume for sure picked up as the game went on. Turned into the best and loudest game I've been to since 2015 playoffs - not bad for a Monday night game with mostly sober fans.
The 'Moose' calls after decent saves have really caught on now. Most of the 'Go Flames Go' chants did start in the PL and Harvey did spent a lot his time in the upper sections trying to get things going.
Hopefully the crowd won't wait until the playoffs to ramp up the noise even more.

Really? I've seen a bunch all season. I usually see at least 1 Flames car flag per day.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed that the current Harvey is no good. He bangs the drum way too fast during the Go Flames Go chants. It should be slow and purposeful, not a frickin' race.

He's not that interactive either, couple bangs on the drum and he disappears. I miss old daredevil Harvey.

I miss the old cartoon cowboy they would play up on the jumbotron -- back then the whole rink would "YAAAAA-HOOOOOOOO". I wonder if that got annoying for opposition players...
|
Has someone with the Flames been reading this thread?
I haven't been to the Dome for the past several games, but unless I somehow missed it previously, it appears they brought back the "Yaaaaaa-hooooo" Cowboy after each Flames goal. i didn't see it until the third goal -- I was hoping they would score another so I could record it but alas it did not happen.
In any event, they didn't play it until a few seconds after Beasley announced the goal scorer, which allowed things to quiet down enough to hear it. Well done!
PS the Moose chants are starting to catch on; the wave at the end of the third period was also one of the best I've seen in awhile (I'm sure it had something to do with St. Paddy's day).

He bangs it 3 times then stops as the crowd chants "Go Flames Go", then he bangs 3 more times. Its supposed to be along with the chanting, what the hell changed?

Yeah, either I was going crazy, or I started to hear some "MOOOOOSE" chants after some of his big saves today.

Haha, I mentioned this last year and people on this forum didn't seem to agree! Glad people are noticing it now

Heard a fair number of 'MOOOOOOSE' calls after big saves by Elliott last night on the broadcast. Anyone get a real moose call?

My five friends and I were in PL 2 row 13 and we cheering loudly and often, then a Flames employee came and moved all of us to section 104. It was pretty sweet. We had some moose chants going.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of empty seats at the dome these days. Not Carolina bad or anything, but either a bunch of fans hung out in the concourse last night or the dome was a few thousand short of full attendance.

It's usually a 1-2k short of a sellout judging by checking their interactive seat map just minutes before most games. They have their ways of "getting rid" of tickets, but yeah it's usually pretty short of a sellout.
The biggest empty spots are exactly where that guy and his friends were moved to. The top of the tall part of the lower bowl usually has 4-5 rows of 10 seats in a row available.
The funniest thing was during a playoff game in '15 against the Ducks where they didn't come close to selling out. Posters were pointing out entire rows that were empty with 5 minutes to game time, then during the opening and anthems the Flames had actually brought dudes in to stand in the middle of those rows with huge Flames flags. They were dancing and running back and forth across the rows cheerleading to the crowd.
