There is a line between emotional and idiotic. Is that your argument against the Wideman suspension? What about the Bertuzzi incident? Or the McSorley incident? What about the other 3 times its happened in the last 10 years? The other guys got suspended. Why shouldn't Kadri?
Just to be clear you're comparing a hand gesture made from the bench to the Bertuzzi incident?
And has the audacity to lecture about the difference in emotion and idiocy. Lol
I see someone doesn't understand a hyperbolic statement. The exact same gesture was suspended previously. But it's just an emotional response and Gio is fine with it so it's OK?
Let's not forget that McGrattan got a 10 minute misconduct for saluting the fans. Tell me logically how a throat slash gesture isn't suspendable?

The problem with suspensions is they often work against the team that was affected. For example, the next 2 games the Leafs play are against the Oilers and the Canucks. 1 or 2 games depending on how fast the NHL decides ends up hurting the Flames.

I never said it wasn't suspendable. That's a league decision and has no bearing on how I feel about it.
I just don't think it's a big deal. Men swear, trash talk and threaten each other when they play big boy sports. I get the league needs to protect it's family event - although guys don't get suspended for fight or slashing or displaying ACTUAL forms of violence.
Kadri could have said the EXACT same dialogue to Giordano without making the hand gesture and there wouldn't be a thread to discuss it.
Did Lucic not get fined for threatening someone in the playoffs a few years ago during the post series handshake? Death threats like "I'll ****ing kill you." shouldnt be taken lightly.
