Again this is barely a lesson. Sitting out and eating popcorn from the press box? That's like the NHL equivalent of sending a kid to their room with an iPad and Xbox. It has it's uses for on ice issues so players can watch the game and try and apply what the coaches are telling them and sending a message but just as a punishment?
Bag skate them or something. Don't punish the fans by sitting one of the only reasons to go to a Flames game.

If those three did something against team policy, then this is the punishment. It doesn't mean it's the end of Gaudreau and Monahan in Calgary, it means a 22 and 21 year old made a mistake. Hopefully a mistake they learn from.

Wasn't the report that they got to the rink at 10:15 for a 10:30 practice? I know in professional hockey that's considered late, but they would have still been on the ice in time for practice correct? So it's not like they actually missed any of the practice.
Seems a bit harsh of a punishment in my opinion.

Most teams have video sessions or meetings before the hitting the ice - that is most likely why they are being punished
