Default Prediction: Bouma will be traded

After what happened at practice today he is as good as gone... As much as they like him the Flames cant have him corrupting Mony

Who would want him? He is signed to a larger contract than his play has been worth this year. He has negative value at the moment.

referring to Hartley cutting practice short today:

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/h...-monday-skate/

Quote:
“He wasn’t happy with the way we were practicing,” winger David Jones said later. “It’s a little embarrassing when we’re not (making) five-foot passes.

“I think he was pretty pissed off about the way things were looking.”

Veteran winger Lance Bouma, considered a true leader here, had enjoyed a particularly ineffective practice, and was sent of the ice after about 15 minutes. Hartley said afterwards, “He wasn’t feeling good, so we removed him from the ice.”

Ah, that makes sense.

Perhaps then, that’s why roommates Sean Monahan and Bouma were seen hustling into the Saddledome at 10:15 a.m. for a 10:30 a.m. practice Monday. It just could be that Monahan lost track of time while brewing lemon tea and honey for Bouma. Or maybe it just took him a while to locate the Neti pot for his ill roomie.

Asked later on about the late arriving players, Hartley neither denied nor confirmed any late arrivals, choosing not to “air dirty laundry.”

Looks like the boys were almost late for practice (Mony, Bouma) The Hartley kicked Bouma off early because he was so bad... conversations were had in the corner with the team then Hartley left them and went off... I'm assuming too much superbowl fun. Bouma being older will bear the brunt of the #### to fly... Thanks Sureloss

Why didn't you just say that in the first place?

In typical Sportsnet fashion, I can't figure out if this article was written for a sports news site, or for TMZ.

Superbowl is a party day. It's gotta be hard and tempting for players that are multi millionaires not to tie one on over 7 straight months. I was certainly not willing to run 15km this morning.

To continue with the "strange" theme of Spectors article - I find it strange that the story he comes up with the weekend after the oilers get outscored 13-2 was about a lousy Fames practice.
