Here is what I saw. Lots of rebounds that he did not control. Flames were in position to get them, so no harm done, but he did not control them.

It makes sense, he is a blocking goalie who butterflies a ton.

He was called on to make zero ten-bell saves. Much like the Columbus goalie. Count the shots and look at save percentage, that is fine.

Sometimes goalies have easy nights. And good fortune.
Hiller froze the puck quite well, I thought. Better than usual. And he actually was called upon to make a few good saves. I'm not a big Hiler fan (or a Ramo fan), but you don't go 35 out of 36 shots without being solid and making a couple decent saves. This one was good:

Cliff Fletcher felt he needed Rick Wamsley as a backup for the Flames to go on a Cup run so maybe one of our goalies can be traded.
Wamsley and Ramage equals Hiller and Wideman? I remember who we gave up to get those guys. Ok Treliving, pull off the inverse of that 1989 trade and in next summer's CP all time GM poll, you will get my vote.

Anyone have a Filip Forsberg that they want to move for Martin Erat......

Still can't believe that was a trade that happened.

Of the prospects they have that would make some sense in a trade for Hiller, number one would be Jusse Saros. Shorter guy at 5-10, but he's a very good goalie.

Whatever happens, I think Calgary's going to have better goaltending next year. With guys like Raanta and Enroth (UFA) and Andersen and Kuemper (RFA) looking to take #1 roles, Calgary is that team on the upswing that can offer starting goalie opportunities. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Flames mail it in after a couple more losses with trading one of Ramo or Hiller (probably Ramo since he can return more), and letting Ortio get a few games in before the season is done. And to be honest, I don't think it's that big of a loss either way.

From Friedman's 30 thoughts:

10. As Pekka Rinne continues to fight the puck, would Nashville consider adding a goalie?

It’s been a long time since he was pushed and it might make sense to bring in someone who could do it. Don’t think we’re talking about anyone with term, but maybe a Jonas Hiller, a Karri Ramo or a James Reimer. They all have starting experience and contracts up at the end of the year.

I and the photographer who captioned it believe he blocked that one.

ETA: you are correct, looking at a clip. But this one was good:
