This might upset the sensitive folk at Sportsnet and HNIC but heck I would even sacrifice McJesus to Baal for another cup win.
But I would probably do that for almost anything.

2004 all day every day. Iginla needs a cup. He's one of the greatest players ever to play the game. It's criminal he doesn't have one yet.

I would trade Canada winning gold ever again if it meant the Flames would win the cup once in my adult life.

Every time there's an Olympics, it's a coin flip whether Canada will win Gold or not. Every NHL season, the Flames have anywhere from a 1-in-50 to 1-in-10 chance to win the Cup.
For that reason, I'd take the Cup over the Gold Medals, because Canada could win another Gold Medal in 2018, 2022, etc. Flames might never win another Cup.
Another way to look at it is, would you trade the 89 Cup for a Gold Medal in 88 and 98? I wouldn't, even though 88 was in Calgary.

Also a Stanley Cup win takes about 9 months of play, including the most grueling playoffs in professional sports.
Single elimination playoffs or international events are mostly meaningless to me.

2002 would be hard to give up, given the drought and how it went down. Bob Cole's call of Iggy's goal, Gretz' Speech earlier in the Tourney.

2010 was magical, maybe if iginla scored it though. Think of how sweet the 2006 edmonton loss wouldve been if we won in 04 though

Factor in any reasons you may choose.
Let me know of your reasoning below.

Well you can't trade one or two wins in exchange for another so the question is ridiculous.

In a heartbeat. I'd trade the golds for a ticket to a Flames game. Don't really care that much for international stuff

A Stanley cup? I'd trade my first born.

agreed. Even the playoff clinching game against LA i wouldnt trade for 2010. That was the happiest day of my life, knocking off the defending champs with the ultimate underdog team.

In a second. I'd trade Canada competing in Olympic hockey for a Stanley Cup win. Especially in the next 5ish years.

It's 100% hypothetical and harmless, only serving to act as discussion regarding which we as fans value more.

Years or decades long emotional roller coaster through hell and back, culminating in an against all odds victory for my home town, or week long minimal contact tournament for a collection of all stars that had maybe 2 practices together and are heavily favored to win....yeah, I wonder which one I'll take.
A more interesting question for Flames fans is what you would be willing to trade for a Stanley Cup? Now that would get some interesting replies.

Half a lifetime has passed since my team has won it, it's longer for a lot of Flames fans. Got spoiled as a kid. Olympic gold is nice, but the Cup is so much more difficult to win.
