We don't know for sure but there are a few reasons for this.

MJK is rumoured to pick the setlists and he picks what he wants to play.

His voice can't sustain singing some of the other songs.

The light and video show is complex and it is too expensive, difficult or time consuming to retool it for every show.

The songs are too hard for the other band members to play.

Unlike say Pearl Jam, who are known for playing a million different songs and having varied setlists, Tool's songs aren't all easy to play and 4 mins long (generally speaking). Just subbing in one song might totally throw off their entire setlist and timing for the show. This in combination with the lights/videos and difficulty means it is harder to play random stuff at each show.

I think it is probably a little of each. I know having a stripped down production makes changing setlists way easier and when you throw in the singing/difficulty angle, it really makes sense that we can't expect the band members to be able to play this massive catalogue at will.

Tickets to the Edmonton show now as low as $13 USD in StubHub. Not quite as good for Calgary at $40 for the lowest.

I'm happy for all those that get to go. Tool was maybe the best musical performance I've ever seen live.

it's been a while now, but I still remember their last performance of sober being on of the best musical performances I'd seen in my life.

Getting really excited for this show. I get what Cecil is saying, but I'm still holding out hope for Prison Sex anyway.

Seriously though, there is a nice break between their last show, tonight, and the next one on Monday in Calgary.

Maybe with a couple of days rest they'll make a few minor substitutions. Realistically I think the best we can hope for is The Pot or Eulogy in place of Vicarious IIRC how the setlists have been done so far.

Checked Stubhub and tickets are cheaper for Edmonton so far- They also have HUGE service fees- Hopefully waiting works

Scalpers these days are anyone and everyone with a credit card who can use Kijiji. Greedy pieces of garbage.

This seemed a bit different though. The tickets were sold out instantly. While Tool is great, they don't have the same popularity of an act like Adele.

Anyways just got some of the best seats in the house for $130 USD. Slightly above face, but only just, and I'm pretty happy. Willing to pay extra for a show like this, where visuals are a huge component.

Did anyone do the VIP package? From what I've read, it means you'll already be in line to get in right now. But I'd be interested to hear what they soundchecked. Trying not to get my hopes up but I'll be over the moon happy if we get even the slightest deviation from the standard setlist this tour.

Please for all that is holy play Eulogy.

The band played it once on this tour, first time since 2001.

They have bomb sniffing dogs patrolling the outside of the building. Never seen that before.

I'm excited to be seeing them tomorrow, but I really wish this tour was suporting a new album.

And I wish they'd play Eulogy. Apparently only once this tour as well.

I really thought, when they announced this tour, it meant a new album was finally ready. Now I kind of wonder if they'll announce they're done for good once the touring is over.

Regardless, awesome show.
