Usually a couple in HD.
The CBC Sports app, if you're on an IOS device, usually has the game they are carrying front and centre on the app. They also streamed their Saturday evening/night games and a few others during the regular season. Worked pretty well.

Yeah but I can only use that on a device. The biggest screen being my iPad.

Why isn't that link available on the website somewhere? American's seem to be able to find it somewhere, why can't I?

Except you don't get to watch your home team... So what's the point?

Yeah this is what was holding me back from doing this earlier. I'm assuming you can try and proxy/VPN it? I dunno, it's an expensive service to put all your eggs in the sketchy VPN basket.

The question was what we're using to watch the playoffs. I assumed polak was asking the question because he watches the playoffs even when the Flames aren't in it.

The NHL.tv app for Kodi (that I am using) requires subscription, of course, but eliminates blackouts.
It's made by Eracknaphobia

That's good to know. Probably the first thing I'll try, thanks.

Thinking about cutting the cord as well only thing I need to watch is sports - I saw the earlier posts about Sportsnet Now quality, has there been an improvement at all? I guess I'm not so concerned through the summer for Jays games but would be for the hockey season.

Wait, what?

I have that app for Kodi, but I had no idea that it gets around the blackouts!

The Reddit stream was flawless today. If that keeps up I'm going to be kicking myself for waiting this long.

How about for NFL, tennis, CFL etc? That would be CBS, TSN, Fox etc.

I had read on reddit that the link can be derived using the team names somehow. Why it's not just on the website is anybody's guess, but I expect it has something to do with promoting the app.

Unless I am confusing it with something else...
I used a combination of official apps and Kodi addons, depending on device.
Unless I misremember, there were times I switched from app to Kodi addon to get around blackouts.
Will have to wait until next year to confirm, I guess.

The obvious answer for the playoffs is a TV antenna to watch CBC OTA. The remainder of the games will all be on CBC.

CBC Calgary's transmission is medium-strong; so for most parts of town a basic antenna should do the trick.

And the HD quality of anything OTA is superb

Matty were you using the Reddit Streams during the regular season?

I'm wondering how they are when their isn't only one game on a day.

I have moved into my trailer for a few weeks while my new house is being finished.

I did not anticipate having as much trouble with my Internet connection, and as such I am needing to get an OTA TV solution for my playoff watching ASAP. We have the coax coming from some kind of antenna into the trailer, but my quick research seems to indicate I need an OTA tuner as well if there isn't one built into the TV.

I have not tested it connected directly because I am not at the trailer, the TV is super cheap so I doubt it has anything built into it. I also don't mind purchasing a HD one now and use it in the new house if the other options are not going to be cheap.

Any thoughts on what I need to get it working today and where to pick it up in town?
