Bought tickets for the family and I to see "The Nutcracker ", spent most of the time in extreme discomfort, concentrating on not puking due to whatever illness I just picked up out of nowhere.

Now I am praying that I will puke soon and get it over with.

Edit: Oh relief, I feel so much better.

Yeah, me too. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with getting hammered to celebrate Christmas the epic Flames comeback victory last night, though.

Sadly, I could just show up in whatever I'm wearing at any given time and be dressed appropriately. 'Woah, check out this guy in his relatively baggy khakis, skate shoes, t-shirt, hoodie and toque...it's like he came out of a time warp!'

It RGMG how today isn't considered a ''holiday'' for Calgary Parking and instead of being able to drive downtown and pay $2 to park, I had to take the train like some sort of peasant

Pulling into the garage and the automatic wipers inexplicably turn on scaring the crap out of me.

Too upscale to take the train. Not upscale enough to pay for parking.

Here's a Gear Grinder, the annoying amalgamation of Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Boxing Day "sales" over the last few years.

Used to be you hit up a store/website on a specific day and they'd actually have some decent deals, but the last few years enough of them have been pushing "X Week Sale!" that the "sales" basically blend into each other. May as well call it their annual "Late November to late December Sale!" at this point.

I prefer this, mark me down as someone who hated trying to fight crowds for boxing day sale. Now you have a month to do it and all sorts of online options. I guess your gear grinder RMMH.

That's fair enough, it just also seems like the sales themselves have gotten a lot worse as a result. Instead of 2/3 distinct days with some killer deals, there's now so/so deals stretched over a 4 week period.

My only real "gear grinder" here is that the sales themselves are worse, but the noise generated "OMG! BlackFridayCyberMondayBoxingWeek Flyers are out!" is harder to ignore now.

Car dealers on Auto Trader that put some ridiculously fake low price, or the lowest monthly payment price so that their ads still show up when you try to filter out listings that don't include a price.

Sunwing really grinds my gears

Been at the airport since 7am this morning for flying to Cancun. The flight was supposed to take off at 10.00am but the crew has not shown up. The plane has been at the gate since morning but they don't have a crew.It has been repeatedly delayed and until recently we had no word from sunwing. A total flight delay of 11 hours at the minimum. Not the best way to celebrate Christmas

Sucks that you had the delays.

WRGMG - when people are sad that my daughter has a birthday on Dec 24th and say that her birthdays will be forever ruined because it's too close to Christmas.
A) We don't celebrate Christmas on Dec 24th in our family, it's Jan. 6 for us
B) It's not like I chose this as her birthdate, it just happened that way (she was due Dec 28 after almost 4 years of infertility and came 4 days early)
C) We will make sure she has a good birthday and celebrate it in our own way, TYVM.

I don't celebrate Christmas at all but don't you think it's a little inconsiderate to have your daughters birthday party on Christmas eve? That's pretty much the worse time for a birthday party. You didn't choose her birthday but having her party at a different date shouldn't be a problem.

If I did celebrate Christmas and someone invited me to a birthday on the 24th I'd be pretty annoyed.
