Maybe just me but this is not cheating. It is exploiting a loophole but they are not cheating. Is it not on the other teams to figure this out as well. Vegas has figured out how to take advantage of the LTIR because of the way the rules are written. Nothing is stopping other teams from doing it. The Flames are in no position to do it but if Cgy was competitive and in a cup window and Vegas had done this multiple years in a row I would be mad at our management for not using the same loophole.
I would prefer it closed but people can not blame Vegas at this stage... Everyone knows the rule and how to exploit it. Vegas just keeps doing it.

Maybe a meaningless stat for one game but it's been a problem for him longer than one game.
His pairing also had the worst corsi % by far of any d pair at 29%.

Only 2 players on the Knights had an expected goals of 0 on the night at 5 on 5. Hanifin and Nicholas Roy.

Predictive inferential stats unfortunately have to take a back seat to actual outcomes

I wish you had that same mindset when we were talking about Vladar in the other thread towards end of season.
You see what you want to see but the stats need to back it up too.

Yup agreed. This is not a Vegas issue. This is the league allowing it to happen.
You can’t expect teams not to take advantage of it. It’s on the league to fix it

Thompson is the right choice as he played more games than Hill.

If the concern is cap circumvention though, Kane will make 7 million dollars a year for every single year of his old Sharks contract. The Oilers will have a cap hit significantly less than that.

I would care more about this if several other organizations hadn't already exploited the loopholes. Once the Hossa LTIR skin condition thing basically eliminated the last four years of his deal from their salary cap it was open season for this stuff. The Knights are simply following the blueprint already used by several teams and as the old saying goes "don't fault the player, fault the game".

So it seems like a lot of crying about, really nothing? These are the gangbusters the Knights are ready to unleash.
They are upset at the dollar figure, and not looking at the talent.
They don't even give off super team vibes.

A Dallas victory only gets them 1/3 of the way to receiving a 3rd round pick 2 years from now. Strictly from a draft perspective, would rather Vegas win to upgrade their 3rd to a 2nd.

Nice dive Robertson, that was McDiver-esque. Stick touched the glove for sure but he went down as if shot. Call embellishment as well. Tap to the gloves and he falls forward??

Good call on the diving penalty on Dallas. Why did Vegas get a penalty?
That annoys me to no end. You don't have to take both guys.

Yeah glad they called that. Looks like Dallas is following the oilers model of trying to dive for PPs.
