I was at Vernon over the weekend. My friends live in Coldstream. 2km from the Kalamalka trail head. We went for a hike, and there were a few people out mountain biking. So jealous.

Are you available for any extra work? I overhauled my own bike with new parts, but I am not really satisfied with the shifting from the SRAM twist shifts. Kind of tight and not precise for the front derailleur.

Also something weird happened while I was biking along one day, it was like the back hub tighten up by itself and the wheel stopped turning.

My old Rocky ETSX needs some fork maintenance as well. PM me if you're able, bossy.

Ya, the cold is getting tiresome. Getting sick of putting on all the clothes. But not enough to take the bus.

Heck I'm probably going to ride into work again tomorrow, 5-10cm of snow be damned.

Supposedly it could be staying frigid until friggin' May... I repurposed my stolen/reclaimed fitness bike into a diy cyclocross monstrosity this winter and I'm d-y-i-n-g to finally test it out.

Nothing amazing about it, just need to get into the routine and remove barriers that may stop you from heading out in the morning.

Nice! What kind of tire-wheel set up do you recommend and/or what are you getting requested to do?
Thanks.

ugh - i was so mad at myself over the weekend, as i went to put some new sealant in my mtn bike tires and the two full bottles i had been storing in my toolbox in my garage had dried up - that is like $40 worth of orange seal.

i guess in the future, i will not store it in my garage over teh winter, and i will not keep so much on hand - although is dificult becasue when you need it you need it, and my LBS is not around the corner from me.

That was a slow one. The path through Queens Park was not plowed, so it was a icy chunky mess of frozen footprints. Hopefully today gets warm enough to put it all back to bare pavement again, so the ice snakes have something to slither out on tomorrow morning...

I rode the road again today. Just too much ice out there.

K-train, there's also no bike shops in the north central area anymore. The Airdrie shop may be the closest to me, which sucks.

My route was all really well plowed, super happy about my ride in this morning.

And i'm also super happy to be in Sunnyside where Ridley's is a 5 minute walk. There have been times I have been in that place 2 or 3 times in one day.

your right, something in deerfoot meadows or Mackenzie towne would be awesome.

the bike shop south (cyclepath) is currently planning to relocate on macleod near 76th by original joes - the boys there tell me the store will be massive with two floors and will be the flagship store.

I sure hope the owner is not expanding too much/quickly.

In Mallorca on a 10 day bike trip right now.

For any road bikers out there, it is absolutely fantastic.

Doing the tour with a company called Magic Places which have been doing this tour for something like 20 years and are great

Anybody use an electric fat bike (pedal assist variety)? I tried a demo model and it was a blast to ride. I like riding my road bike to work when it's nice out (16km each way) but with our weather it's only something I can do when it's nice.

It's a little far for my current fat bike, but I was thinking with an electric I could do it pretty much any time of year. I'm way in the south and my route takes me through a number of areas where it doesn't get cleared, so a road or cylocross bike don't cut it year round.
