Stolen from Eli Straw, How to Deal With The Agony Of Defeat, and modified for the Flames fan.

Losing sucks! There is no doubt the feelings of defeat are tough to cope with, no matter your age. No one enjoys losses.

When our teams lose, it can seem as if the world is crashing down. Our confidence may plummet, and all the joy we once held so dear within the game can vanish in an instant.

There’s nothing worse than suffering losses over and over again, or is there? I would argue there is something worse…facing the loss and failing to take anything positive away from the situation.

I know, when in the midst of a losing season, the last thing that seems possible is finding any ounce of positivity in the team. But, the truth is, failure and defeat provide us with two options.

We can either allow the agony of defeat to eat at our psyche, leading to us feeling anger or hopelessness. Or, we can accept the defeat, learn something from that game or season, and move forward.

I don’t know about you, but I would much rather choose the second option. Let's move forward and cheer on the Flames, no matter what!

Thanks!!

Thanks everyone for another great season of Flames fanaticism! There were many great moments to the season, share your best moment below and let's go out with a bang!

Once again, BIG thanks go out to Bingo for allowing us to cheer on the Flames on the best hockey forum on the interwebs, and even more for his Game Takes, they are truly the best and especially great for those of us on the east side of Alberta who have a tough time staying awake for the games!

I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Tsawwassen and hwy19man for their help with GDTs when I was away and also for their dedication to the Out of Towns and pre-game links for every single game day! Truly excellent sportsmanship and great guys!

Thanks to the many journalists and Tweeps (Xers?) who help me, help you, find the best stories for the Flames. Our very own superstar, Mike Gould aka TheScorpion, and Flames Nation's Ryan Pike (Freeway), and his team, inc Robert Munnich, provide the best Flames coverage on the internet!

Last but not least, thanks to all of those who provided us with insights from the minor leagues, trades and drafts, stuff we will need to get very intimate with over the next few years. Sandman (The best prospect write-ups!), cral12, Reggie Dunlop, getbak, IceBergYYC, FlamesFanStrandedInEDM, dammage79 and of course the man, sureloss!! If I've missed some, post them below.

Till next year, thanks everyone!!

Year two of a five year rebuild concludes tonight!

We're almost halfway there everybody! The next three years will see excitement build more and more!

I don't count last year as a rebuild. We were trying to go all in for a playoff run. Even as early as the beginning of this year, we were trying to re sign Lindholm.

I would say the rebuild began with the Lindholm trade. And next year will be the first full year of the rebuild.

Going tonight, but not in my usual seats. Haven’t looked to see if the standings are fixed and I can cheer for a win.

I'm hoping Seattle is getting blown out by the time puck drops for this game, so I can just enjoy myself and cheer for the win.

For most of the year I would have leaned Markstrom or Coleman, occasionally Weegar, but now I have to go with Kadri.
