Default How do you keep up with current affairs?
Just curious what news feeds or new fangled social applications people use these days to keep up with current affairs including local, national and global.

The local news paper is a great source, and obviously Calgarypuck is top notch, but what other tools do I have at my disposal that I have not mastered?

I use twitter for real-time news most of the time.

My regimen consists of

National Post
The Economist
CBC (sometimes)

If I am truly desperate, I will gander at the Huffington Post but usually leave disappointed and/or angry haha.

Global News in the morning for local stuff, weather, traffic, local events and siutations etc.

Twitter for anything and everything. Twitter is perfect if you do it right. Follow the right people and you're golden. Jason Markusoff is a must for Calgary stuff, Crackmacs.. not so much.

Reddit throughout the day, similar to twitter, augment for feed for whatever you're interested in. Major news always makes it to the front.

CBC News in the evening.

The BBC news app is a must as well, set it to what notifications you want. Big news comes fast.

Calgarypuck for NHL news or the NHL mobile app is decent too. Sometimes can push useless stuff.

Normal work and friend gossip.

My Facebook feed. Just found out that vaccinations are actually bad for kids and that climate change is a hoax! Solid news source, IMO.
