The same thing I do every year on Canada Day, 21 years running. Go to Waterton with my wife's family and have a picnic, then go to the townsite and get ice cream and head back to Lethbridge to watch the fireworks. Before I met my wife her family was going to Waterton for Canada for at least another 10-15 years.
The only thing different this year will be the level of annoyance at all the people. Waterton used to be a bit of a "secret spot", but it has been becoming increasingly over crowded on Canada Day each year.
I hear a lot of people saying that they're going to Waterton on Canada Day since it is free this year... um, it's free on Canada Day every year to go to any National Park... Yeah, but it's free this year because of the 150th celebration... Oh, okay.

I didn't know that it was free to go into National Parks on Canada Day. Good to know- thanks!

On a more serious note, doing a BBQ house warming at a friends then watch the 30 minute firework display.
I am disappointed in that I get friday off and the wife gets monday off so we can't really have a long weekend.

I'll be watching free agent frenzy until I can be bothered to get out of bed, then drink on the patio the rest of the day with some friends.
I love this country!

Heading down to our trailer in Montana. Bringing the smoker and having a "red neck block party" with the other Canadians at the RV park. Forecasting 30+ degrees so maybe a dip in Lake Kookanusa too

Enjoy. Nights like that are the best. Used to go fishing in a bunch of lakes just north of Ft. Chipewyan. Had the entire lake to ourselves for a week. Always managed to bring in a handful of small fireworks. Good times shooting those off the end of the dock.

Making our annual pilgrimage to the in-laws for the long weekend. Maybe I can sneak out with my son and get in 18 holes somewhere, but probably not. So basically a pretty boring weekend.

Afternoon picnic on the beach with fellow Canadians here in Fukuoka. Cold beer, sushi and fried chicken in 32C sunshine. Should be good times.

Camping/riding/shooting in the bush somewhere west of Maycroft with a group of 16 others.
I just purchased a $200 box of fireworks and with all the others bringing various levels of the same, it should be a gooder.

House work. I have so much crap to do around the house that I'm shipping the wife and kids off to her sisters for the weekend so I can go to town on the house.
Maybe the horse races on the Sunday but nothing fancy.

I think I'll sit back, relax and watch the riders christen their new stadium by losing by 40 points to the bombers.

Drinking my life away in beautiful BC I can't believe I made the move here, but I will never move back to Calgary ever.
