Who you got winning?

20 players broke par last year and you can net the USGA won't like a repeat. I got Tiger at 3 under

It's been predicted that the players would be very happy to survive the first 6 holes at +2.

Hole 1: Par 4 520 yards
Hole 2: Par 4 428 yards
Hole 3: Par 3 247 yards
Hole 4: Par 4 438 yards
Hole 5: Par 4 489 yards
Hole 6: Par 4 498 yards

With tilted fairways and very rough rough.

I'm picking Matt Kuchar.

Might be worth keeping an eye on this since that childish idiot is paired with Phil for Thursday and Friday.

Since '07, Woods & Mickelson played 12 rounds together. Phil was better in 8 of those rds. Tiger failed to break 70 in any of the last 6.

I was taking about that moron named Tiger Woods being a childish idiot.

Eventually Lee Westwood has to win a major, right? Six of his past 10 majors, he's finished top 5. Coming off a huge win in Europe last week too. He's who I'm picking to win this weekend.

Isn't this course all about hitting it straight off the tee?

if so it doesn't seem like a good course for Phil or Tiger.

Much like Drake's Westwood has to win one eventually thinking I will go with Luke Donald who seems to play a steady game that should work on a course like this that seems to lend itself to blows to take you out more so than great rounds to win it.

Graham McDowell should be around the leaders as well.

Pick to win: I was leaning towards Westwood like others, but I'm gonna take Adam Scott to win his first major. No rhyme to this reason, just a hunch.

Sleeper: Louis Oosthuizen. Picture perfect swing and nerves of steel will always do well in US Opens

Biggest Disappointment: Tiger Woods. This is not a very Tiger friendly course, and I can see him missing the cut.

Olympic club will heavily favor those that cut and fade the ball. Because of that, im not sure it will be a great week for players that prefer to draw the ball- like zach johnson and matt kuchar.

Tiger pretty much hits nothing but left to right shots nowadays, but this course is going to require some insane up and downs- so, im going to say the winner will be whoever has the best scrambling percentage this week. I like the two best short game players in the world (Phil and luke donald), but im worried phil is too wild off the tee, and donald is too short off the tee- although length isnt the most important thing at Olympic. I think most players will be laying up on a number of the par 5s.

Id maybe go with dufner, but not sure he has the sunday nerves yet.

I like martin kaymer and lee westwood- although westwoods short game may not be able to handle olympic club either.

Wouldnt bet against mcdowell- he cuts the ball, has a good short game and is known for sinking some insane putts. Doesnt hit it crazy long, but this isnt a bombers course.

I got 9th pick in our little 10 person pool. I took Matt Kuchar. Probably would have picked him a lot higher anyway. I think Westwood and Dufner are two others with great games for this course and playing great too.

It will be interesting to see how many people can birdie the first hole, and if anyone can possibly reach the 16th in 2. The initial guess would be of course not, but I have a hard time believing the USGA would ever set up a par 5 that could not be reached. I am not positive, but I am guessing there is some slope on that hole, and it probably plays with the wind on most days. Saying it is 670yds may be misleading for long the hole actually plays. They may even move the tees up for a day a two.

Anyways, Tiger about to start- the key for him is going to be his short game and ability to make 5-10 footers for par. Most people are confident in his ball striking right now- its the other stuff that is not quite where it should be.

Bubba went driver-driver on 16 and is still 60 yds away.

Good start for Tiger and lookin solid, not so great for Phil and Bubba. Phil lookin shaky.

I was thinking about picking Kevin Na, but then remembered he's a giant meltdown waiting to happen. Still pretty amazing the guy can play at such a high level with such issues between the ears.

Luke Donald won't have a chance as his driving is erratic for sure. He won't be a factor.

I know that they've teed off and I'm a little late, but I'll go with Tiger for the victory this weekend as I think he is finally started to put things together.

The funny thing is the conditions today will likely be the easiest of all 4 days. With the course getting faster and faster thanks to the nice weather and the pin placements getting more difficult, shooting par will be incredibly good.

The question is- will be the winner this week be under par? I love it when even par wins the US open. Last year sucked.

Ya, Luke Donald's problem is more about distance off the tee. His short game may make him a contender this week. Hard to believe the world #1 is flying under the radar.

I guess I was thinking about length? Isn't he around 100th?

Woods 2 under, 1 off the lead... destroying Bubba and Phil who are +7 and +6.
