|
I'm not really a big fan of his own music, but the covers he has done for a bunch of older country songs are great. I've seen him live too, and he has a booming voice. A lot better than what I figured.
If he sings it straight across without any twang it'll be fine.

Canyon is a great singer and should do a good job.
I am shocked at how many people are against country music, especially here in Calgary.
Country music is the best. It beats any of that screamo, auto-tune, electronic and fake top 40 crap.
It's just cool the Flames hired an actual recording artist to sing every home anthem, don't think any other teams have that.

I think most people who don't like country and the "western" theme are a lot louder than those that do.
I hate it and I think it just furthers the stereotype that we're texas north.

I'm not personally a fan of country music, but my individual music preferences are neither here nor there. My opposition to this hiring is that Canyon will in all likelihood (I'd be happy to be proven wrong) sing our national anthem with a country twang vocal style. I hate that when any anthem singer does it.
