Penalty shootout between Germany and England in the U21 Euro semis.

Germany wins of course. Some things never change.

As I type that Germany scores. Most undeserved lead ever

How many times is Sanchez going to be lectured before given a card?

That should be a straight red for Chile. Elbow to the face of Werner

I thought red would have been harsh. More a flailing elbow connected rather than a deliberate one.

His elbow was up the entire time and he did nothing to try and avoid contact with it

Sanchez tackles Can, free kick Chile. Ok. Yellow was deserved for Can for wasting time, but the foul was on Sanchez

Good. Rough match all around and Chile may have been the better squad overall but Chile deserved that loss.

More likely they're going to be buying Sanchez, but if they do hes not going to be getting to scream at kids all the time, he'll be dealing with actual professionals. Hes got to tone it down, hes like Suarez x 3 with less biting action.

That was a great game to watch, even as a German fan you were effectively neutral because its the Confederations Cup and you're effectively watching Germany's reserve squad take on a Chile team thats at the top of their game, but it was entertaining.

Chile I think definitely deserved better, they had some gilt-edged chances that were thwarted either by last-ditch defending or poor finishing like the shot at the very end that I think went over the roof of the stadium.

But in saying that you have to then turn around and say that Low got his team selection and tactics spot on.

Whats really nice is to see some great, young up-and-coming talent. Lots of impressive players for the Germans, theres definitely some players sitting at home thinking that maybe their World Cup spot isnt as guaranteed as they'd like to believe.

And Arsenal and City fans must be choked. Where was that Mustafi all year? Who is this Claudio Bravo and what has he done with the Bravo that played for City all year? Are there two Claudio Bravos?

One thing that I thought was really interesting was the implementation of the VAR. I'm glad they caught Jura for the elbow that likely should have been red, but either way something that the ref missed the VAR caught and the call was made.

And when Sanchez was whining about the most obvious non-penalty ever the ref just ignored him and told them all to stop bitching at him to check the TV.

Do the players not realize that the VAR guys are watching the game? If they see something the ref missed they'll tell him. You should not be allowed to try and influence the referee to review a play and I thought this ref did a great job.

Germany has a ridiculous amount of guys to choose from for 2018 and onward. Should be the favorites or right near the top for the next 3-4 major tournaments.

They're not always 'Favourites' to win, but they rarely finish out of the Top 3-5. They're in the Mix to win.

They're not like some teams where they can go into a Tournament expecting to win the whole thing and then get eliminated in the Group Stage. That rarely happens to Ze Germans.

And it seems at this point that they could apparently field two competitive teams. Can Germany qualify for the World Cup twice?
