Totally agree on point one. But as much as I hate vertical video, I think it's excusable when you're trying to record something stealthily. It's looks more natural to be holding your phone that way.

Funny thing about evidence, if it doesn't exist you don't have any.

If the person recording didn't record this, recorded just a brief snippet, didn't get a clear face shot etc. this guy wouldn't face any consequences. With the recording he does.

I'm probably gonna get rounded on for this, but I witnessed a similar incident about 6 or 7 years on a Calgary bus and did nothing about it. It wasn't this guy. Two 40-something scuzzy looking dudes, like the type you would see outside the Cecil back in the day, got on the bus together and sat near the back in front of me. At some stage, a young female got on, and at one point, one of the guys starts touching her hair and is winking at his buddy. She got off a few stops later, none the wiser.

I do regret not saying something, but I was a skinny kid at the back of the bus with two scummy looking dudes.

I wouldn't beat yourself up over that. They were being freaks and that's alarming behaviour, but you may have escalated it by stepping in at that point. In that situation sometimes it's best to stick close by the girl in case she needs your help (i.e. you'd be pretty lame to get off the train and leave her alone with them), but at the end of the day I don't think you shirked any societal responsibility you had and since she was none the wiser it ended well.

Not trying to be an online tough guy but I definitely would have done something there. One good public scare could be enough to switch the guy to keeping his sick fantasies to himself.
