I hope Kipper is given a standing O tonight. Could be his last home game.
Quote:
KIPPER GETS START
Also returning to the ice against the Red Wings will be Miikka Kiprusoff, who hasn't started since April 10th, a 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
With his future beyond the season in doubt, it could be one of the final times Kiprusoff plays on home ice. Unsure of whether or not he'll return to the Flames or retire in the offseason, the goaltender didn't rule out that Wednesday's game could be one of the last opportunities fans in Calgary to catch the keeper live.
"There is a chance but like I say it's a decision I'm going to make in the summer what I'm going to do in the future," he said.
Kiprusoff has one year remaining on a six-year, $35 million contract signed in October of 2007.

The outcomes of these next few games doesn't really matter. I'm just excited to watch the kids play. It seems like people are more positive now then they have been at this time of year for a few seasons. We know we aren't going to make the playoffs but it's just fun to watch hockey again and it's about time.
People keep saying that a Young Guns 2.0 is going to be a long stretch of bad hockey.... well they might be right but with the younger players we have in the system now and hopefully by next season, this team will have a bright future.

I love the hunger and abilities of these young guys. It goes to show that you can have all the skill in the world, like a Tanguay for example, but if you don't fight as hard as possible every night for results you're not contributing to your team. These guys are playing their hearts out and I think we're getting a glimpse of a team that isn't too far off being back in contention.

I see Calgary winning this one. They're getting opportunities, and it looks like -despite the losing - they're a team that is having fun again.

Ya Kipper isn't going to let this one go, especially since it may be his last game ever in the Dome.
The kids will come out flying tonight, 3-1 Calgary.

Pretty excited for this game since I've got amazing free seats. As usual I'm just hoping our young guys show up and score some goals. I'm okay with kipper crapping the bed and us losing as long as it's a close game. Not as big of a kipper fan as I used to be after the whole deadline day fiasco.
I predict a 5-4 Wings victory with Backlund, Baertchi, Brodie and Hanowski goals. Reinhart with 2 assists.

So glad I'm going tonight. To see Kipper in what may be his last game would be a great thing to see.

If this truly is Kipper's last game, the best possible outcome is a 1-0 Detroit win.
Kipper posts a 46 save shutout in regulation.
Flames lose in OT
Everyone is happy

#Flames get Matt Stajan back in the lineup tonight. Sounds like Roman Cervenka will be a healthy scratch.

Actually, the Flames are already mathematically eliminated.
Detroit and Columbus both play Dallas.
There is no mathematical way that one of the three teams doesn't get to 49 points.
Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer or anything, just saying.

Bummer about cervenka but at least stain isn't coming in at the expense of our new young guy nucleus.
