Another weekend of great skiing and some partying just off hwy 19 where internet coverage is inconsistent.
The games are all over now so here are the scores and post game links.
The first game of the day had the Panthers at Islanders was on NHL Network Canada. The Islanders won 3-0 but it was actually a 1-0 game as the Islanders scored two empty net goals in the final minute of the game. Both Nabokov and Markstrom played well with Nabokov getting the shutout. http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=2012020465
The next game was the Capitals at Rangers where the Capitals won 3-2 in the shootout. All four regulation goals were scored in the first period and give credit to Washington for killing off a long two man disadvantage. http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=...navid=sb:recap
The game of the night had to be the battle of Pennsylvania which was on NBCSN and RDS in french from Pittsburgh. Due to NCAA March Madness coverage, TSN2 was unable to televise this game. This game definitely did not turn out the way many fans were looking forward to. It was a low scoring affair, 2-1 in overtime for the Penguins who won the twlefth consecutive game. Bryzgalov and Fleury played very well in goal this game. http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=...navid=sb:recap
The Jets stop their recent slump as they defeated the visiting Lightning 3-2 in regulation time. The coaches for Tampa Bay this game was a three way effort since Guy Boucher was fired. http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=...navid=sb:recap
The Canucks win 3-2 over the Avalanche. The win has the Team 1040 hosts greatly exaggerating on how exciting it is that the Canucks are first place again in the Northwest Division. There is no mention of the fact that the Wild are just two points back and have two games in hand on the Canucks. http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=...navid=sb:recap
The final game on Sunday had the Red Wings sweep their weekend series over the Ducks with both games in Anaheim. This game was closer, 2-1 Detroit in regulation time. Temuu Selanne received a rare ten minute misconduct and so did three of his teammates. Reading the game summary, it seems the Ducks were disputing a tripping call. http://www.nhl.com/ice/preview.htm?id=2012020471
