It's just incredible that some people are taking the stand that what they said is all true.
Were the plays dumb? Absolutely. (in other words, Ball's and Garrett's comments were fair)
But that is completely different than saying he lacks intelligence. Anyone who can't see the difference between 'dumb play' and 'dumb person' I can only assume suffers from the same alleged issue.
As to who it was, it sounded at the end like they were working on a highlight package to send to Sportsnet. So it's probably reasonable to guess that it was the technician that puts those clips together.
Also, the fact that he used f-bombs, and called the player 'not an intelligent person' (i.e. attacked the person instead of the act) suggests that it was someone that isn't used to having a mic in front of them.
Just really dumb and unprofessional comments.

Personally I think it's disgusting, I have no problem with calling the penalty stupid...but to call Hamilton stupid on a personal level is brutal. Who ever said that shouldn't be allowed to step foot in the Dome.

This thread is too funny. The guy who made the comment clearly isn't an on-air broadcaster. So some random technical guy - basically a roadie - comments in what he assumes is a private conversation that he thinks Dougie Hamilton is an idiot. Outrageous! Scandal! Fire the bum!

Nor is it Eric Francis, Roger Millions or Kelly Hrudey.
Just a suggestion, but anyone saying they think or know who it is - or regurgitating what other sites are saying - without being 100% positive who said what is wrong on many levels.
I will not "out" anybody on it - and frankly it saddens me somebody may lose their job over this, since we all say something regrettable in our lives but fortunately aren't usually being recorded.

Well, it's nice to hear that Garrett's commentary is as useless off mic as it is on. Getting mad because Bouma has his skates pointed towards the net?!
Also, pretty low of Wyshynski to throw his media colleagues under the bus. They said nothing newsworthy during the exchange. This wasn't a truth to power moment where you're outing Bettman talking about hiding concussion data or something like that. This was simply meant to embarrass two colleagues in exchange for clicks and giggles.

Much needed post in this thread. People shouldn't be speculating too much without any proof, but certain words that were being used to describe what they thought they knew were more egregious than they probably thought.
