Sabres lost McDavid, but at least they got Eichel. The Yotes go from Eichel to Strome and have to deal with McDavid being in their division on top of it. Ouch.

Then you look at what guys like Marner, Werenski, Provorov, Hanifin are doing. Double ouch.

totally agree. if the speed of the world junior game was too much for Strome to handle (which it sure looked like), then he is going to have a rough go in the Show.

Not every player is fully developed at 18. In fact almost every one is not. Did you see Joe Thornton at he NHL level at age 18? Didn't stop him from becoming one of the best playmaking centres in the NHL.
