Default Sharks’ Micheal Haley suspended one game for roughing

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/s...game-roughing/

Meanwhile the goof who started that crap in the first place and provoked that response apparently gets no supplementary discipline at all. What a joke.

If I was the sharks GM, I'm giving then that concerned dad look that we all saw growing up while giving him a high five later.

That's a suspension well worth it.

This also is not the 1st time Jarnkrok has pulled off a dirty cheap shot like that this year.

That punch landing is so, sooooo satisfying to watch.

Nice hit from behind you goof.

And I'm no fan of Haley.

How is it a sucker punch when you hit the guy from behind, he gets up, drops his mitts and chases you down? How do you not see that coming?

Wrong guy got suspended, IMO.

Plus the guy you hit from behind, has his gloves off and is chasing you, is pretty much a GOON FFS.

The hit from behind should have been a penalty, but the sucker punch is definitely suspension worthy IMO.

Reminds me a lot of the Ference sucker punch on Stempniak.

Agree 100%. This also isn't the only cheap shot like this that he's pulled off this year. Remember his hit from behind on Stajan a month ago??

I love the response from Haley, well worth the one game suspension.

The hit from behind is also suspension-worthy, and it's not the 1st time he's committed that sort of dirty hit this year.

Yeah, I agree he could/should have been. They could have each received a one game suspension for the hit/response.

NHL suspended Haley, fine. But what does this say to the rest of the league?

Hit someone dirty, and the league will protect you. Jarnkrok absolutely needed to be suspended in this instance, and the NHL botched it - again.

Jarnkrok definitely deserved more than 2 minutes (I was under the impression originally that Jarnkrok didn't even get a penalty).

The more i watch it, the more I think I would have been fine with 5 and a game for Jarnkrok and 1 game for Haley (At the point Haley went after Harnkrok, he had no idea what the refs were calling).

No way does Haley deserve that

Everyone knew Haley got hit dirty and payback was coming....it wasn't a surprise, no one else was jumping in and this is the way it should be ......like dropping food on the ground.....5 second rule applies and now you get to pick up your chicklets.

Leagues player safety needs to seriously get a clue......Crosby nuts and slashes a guy and gets nothing.....Haley I guess is supposed to go down like he's been shot and lay motionless until they decide maybe it was a bad hit???

I hope the flames have good luck in the playoffs and dont have to get engaged in after whistle stuff because the league has not been kind to us this year.

Didn't think that looked dirty. Looked like he tried to come in shoulder to shoulder, but Haley was skating with his left shoulder turned towards the boards because he's a rightie driving the puck backhanded along the boards. Hits the back of the left shoulder, not in the numbers.

NHL got it right imho.
