Ya give me Monahan, already a leader of our team and again is out scoring Mackinnon and has 10 more goals while having a "below average year". Cmon guys, Monahan is a beast. McKinnons best moment of the last 2 years came in a pre-season tournament gtfo
Monahan will be the next captain of this team, and he leads the 2013 draft class in scoring.
The Avs would have to add to get him.

The Avalanche have TWO wins against Pacific teams all season, the last time against LA on November 15th. They also only have TWO wins against teams in the West since Nov 19th. Has to be one of the worst teams in NHL history. How does Sakic still have a job?
I believe that Iginla was traded from Calgary on March 27th...a night where a disheartened Flames team still beat a no show Avalanche team that was planning their year end trip to Vegas.
Hopefully it's an inspired Flames team beating down a no show Avs team.
It's my birthday Flames...give me a win today!

So with Elliott starting how many more games does Johnson play this season?
Hopefully none. He hasn't looked good in his last 2 appearances and we're still fighting for playoff positioning. Elliott hasn't played much this season so it's not like he needs the rest.

BC Lotteries online gambling service (Playnow) is apparently not liking this matchup at all...it is not offering odds on tonight's game. The same goes for Phx @ St. Louis. This is actually quite rare, usually all games are offered, even lopsided ones.
GFG!
The Avs are a bad team and the Flames need to show no mercy. Score early, score often and never take your foot off their throats. A bad team needs to get a sound beating by the Flames

None, unless our position is known before the season is over.
Ya I can only seeing him getting a game if the Flames can't move up or down in the standings. I still think it's important to have a solid backup for the playoffs but it seems the Flames will be riding Elliott the rest of the way. Tough end to the season for Johnson

I think it is far more important to manage your starter's workload. Let's be honest: as soon as a team's backup goalie starts a playoff game it is a pretty good indicator that the series is already over.
I wouldn't mind seeing Johnson in another game if only to ensure that Elliott is as fresh as possible for the second week of April. But even if he plays out the string I am pretty confident in his ability to play for a long time this Spring.

Ya, I mean Johnson has undoubtedly served his purpose for this season. He let Elliott have lots of rest at the beggining of the season so I'm pretty confident that Elliott will be able to go the rest of the way. Still that's a lot of games to start in a row but he should be able to do it. Still would be nice to have Johnson regain some confidence before the post-season
Have to give credit to this Avalanche GDT thread. Made me chuckle

Wow just listening to Fan960. Apparently the Aves didn't even skate today. Completely mailing it in considering they didn't play in a back to back situation. It also isn't like they had to travel far considering they came from Edmonton.
