My wife and I are loving this show, its just so well done.

Its rare that you can get a show where kids are regular characters and the actors dont suck.

Personally I think they should go the route of American Horror Story and Season 2 should be a whole new story.
Spoiler!
. Music was awesome.

And whoever does the music for this show deserves some sort of award. I dont know which award, but some award.

Agreed. In fact all the characters were likeable which made the show so easy to follow and enjoy. Shows like TWD and especially FTWD could take a few notes as you can make an interesting and suspenseful show without filling it with unlikeable people playing off each other. Viewers generally buy into stories more when they are fondly attached to characters.

They really did a fantastic job of capturing the feel of the 80's and the music was a big part of that. Really well done by Netflix all around.

What an incredible series. Can't wait for another. As others have mentioned, the soundtrack was absolutely on point.

Needs more Akira.
Just finished it last night, and I'm with you nik. I liked it, but didn't think it was as good as everyone else is saying. I started to like it less and less each episode, not sure why. I'll keep watching though.

A huge thumbs up from me. Just so watchable. As others have said, the story was fine, but what put the show over the top was the likable characters, good pacing and beautiful soundtrack. And I love these series that are 13 episodes or less.

Just finished binge watching this. As an 80's kid, loved it. I wonder if the younger generation will get it?

Finished it up yesterday. Thought it was stellar.

I think the overall quality of production, pacing, editing, etc. really pulls it together moreso than the fact that it's 80s and full of references/homages. My wife didn't move to NA until the late 90s, so often watching "classic" media from pre-1990 is pretty eye-rolling for her, but she really enjoyed Stranger Things. She is a pretty big Stephen King fan however.

My wife and I really enjoyed the show. Lots of nods to the nerdy things I grew up with without slapping you in the face with it.

The kids were incredible actors. The actor who played Eleven should get some recognition/award for her performance.

I want more but I'm worried it won't be as good. They caught lightning in the bottle with this. Amazing debut performances with great seasoned vets. It'd be tough to pull off again.

I say just give the Duffer Brothers free reign. New story, new actors, set in the same era.

This was huge with my wife and I. Lots of little things here and there of course, but some hilarious stuff as well.

My parents have those exact same walkie-talkies and flashlights at home.

My wife is a bit of a photo buff and thought: 'Hey I used to have that camera! In 1983 that thing must have cost more than a car!"

Started watching this show over the weekend and really like it. The wife and I are 80's kids, our kids are teens and they like it too.

Just a note on the Duffer Brothers, met these guys 2 or 3 years ago (can't quite remember) when they were given the reigns of a movie called Hidden that was all done here in Vancouver. It was their first big project and the WB exes wanted to see what they could do as they had a few stories up their sleeves that they wanted to write, direct and produce. Guess it all worked out for them.

Hidden was done for just over $10 million, they did a very good job with it.

It's actually the font from Choose Your Own Adventure books and the Smiths' album Strangeways Here We Come. Doubt the latter is a coincidence because The Smiths are mentioned in episode 2.

I'm halfway through. I like the music choices, New Order Elegia in particular.
