Thanks for this! Black Love is a great album and can't believe it's already 20 years since its release. Afghan Whigs shows are so fun because they mix in a bunch of covers into their set -- usually R&B covers introing into or outroing from one of their own songs. For those interested in hearing more, check out their Uptown Avondale e.p. which has several R&B covers.

We’re pleased as punch to have Phantogram kick off our eighth season of A.V. Undercover, which has a moody new vibe, with a stellar take on Hole’s “Violet.” The cover finds frontwoman Sarah Barthel doing her best dark Courtney Love, all while the churning band takes full advantage of the new, well-lit Undercover set. It’s a great indication of where we’re going with this new season, which will feature all your favorite or soon-to-be-favorite bands doing covers of all your favorite songs. We’re talking groups like Minus The Bear, Lee Fields, Old 97’s, Passenger, Austra, and Fastball covering cuts by T. Rex, Dolly Parton, Fugazi, and Blink-182, though not necessarily in that order. We can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been working on for the past few months, so make sure to check back here every Tuesday for the latest look at A.V. Undercover season eight.

Cloud Nothings deliver a polarizing take on Coldplay’s “Clocks”. LOL

I know those of you who follow this thread probably have already seen this but I just watched this tonight and thought Minus the Bear really nailed it.

And then Youtube led me to this awesome live version. Love how Fugazi lets fans encroach onto the stage!

This Australian radio station often has artists do covers when they're in studio. This version of Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" by HAIM is actually listenable.

Cool coincidence. I've actually been listening to the new Charly Bliss album today. It is a solid album.

Frankie Rose Covers The Cure

https://www.turntablekitchen.com/201...e-covers-cure/

Quote:
Thanks to a friend who was a die-hard fan, I became obsessed with The Cure in high school and college. I had every record they’d ever released and I was obsessive about hunting down their b-sides. I still think tracks like “From The Edge of the Deep Green Sea,” “Jumping Someone Else’s Train,” and “A Forest” rank among some of the greatest songs ever written.

So it’s with particular enthusiasm that we announce that our friend Frankie Rose has recorded a full album cover of The Cure’s Seventeen Seconds for SOUNDS DELICIOUS. For those who somehow missed Frankie’s brilliant solo LPs such as Turntable Kitchen favorites Interstellar and the brand spanking new Cage Tropical, you may nonetheless recognize her for her impressive resume as one of the founding members of Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls, and Vivian Girls.

Like a Version is a weekly segment on the Australian radio station Triple J. It involves Australian and international artists playing live in the Triple J studio, typically performing one of their own songs and then a cover version, hence the name of the segment.
