Ya I have the 3.8. It's getting lowered this spring when the summer rims (in picture) go back on it.

In an '07 Cobalt SS?
You'd get smoked. Only 2009 ecoboost would have a shot

Wtf? Ecoboost is Ford. Anyway... my car isn't stock. As for the turbo Cobalt which is what I think you're referring to, there's no "have a shot"...

Genesis... the quarter-mile, at 14.5 seconds.

the SS manages 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 14.2

From the same magazine. And my car handles a stock SS turbo easily.

blah you're right, I always f' up my domestics... Junk is junk (jk the new SS is pretty decent, except the interior which is comparable to a prison cell in tijuana)
I ment the new ECOTEC with the turbo no the SC.
It'll take a lot in an old SS to beat the 3.8 Genesis. Can't make a fair judgement though

The old SS runs a 14.6-15.0 stock. I don't know that you're running but it better be more then an intake and exhaust if you're shaving off .5 of a second.

Up here at 3,000 feet that's what they run, yeah. That means Genesis are in the 15's though. I've seen stock supercharged Cobalts beat Genesis, maybe they were auto... not sure. Stock turbo vs a Genesis would be no contest whatsoever.
*Yes Cobalts are junk and the interior is like jail, but I'm in uni and it's all I could afford! Nice beating up on BMW's, etc. with a car that looks like a rental. Puts a smile on my face.

What I'd be more interested in seeing is an equally modded 2.0T Genesis take on a modded SS. Those things pull power out of nowhere.
You're telling me! Everyone thinks my car is a big slow family sedan... they find out pretty quick whats under the hood of mazdaSPEED 6. It's good fun...

2.0T's are doing some nasty stuff with mods, and of course once you start upping power it turns heavily in favour of the RWD Genesis vs FWD in the Cobalt. And wow that's a pretty car considering the price. When I'm out of this pocket rocket phase I'll definitely start looking at used Genesis.

I can proudly say that all the hard-work, effort and studyin' my arse off through post-secondary paid off for me, as I'm very fortunate to have these vehicles.

I have an 07 Nissan Sentra, but this is my new summer vehicle I just bought:
Except mine is black and grey, as opposed to grey and black. It's an 09 Suzuki SV650s.
