That was a good offensive read by Brodie to be in the right place at the right time!

I love how frustrated the media get about the Heat playing a neutral zone trap. I've never understood why people get so uptight about that defensive strategy. If it stops players and goals, then who cares? It's up to the other team to adjust.

Heat go on the PK. What a weak penalty. It's not Nemisz's fault the Marlies player has the hands of a 4 year old and can't hold onto his stick.

Heat just tweeted that the second goal has now been given to Street.

my favorite part of their broadcast was where the one commentator went off about his "good friend" John Bower and how he played every game and how Brust took 1 game off inbetween.

Something tells me Street wasn't acquired just as a farm hand.

If/when the NHL is back on, I think Street will be given a fair shot for one of those centre positions.

Yep. You can hear it in the PBP guy's voice, for sure.
The Heat are looking a lot like the early 90's Pens IMO.

If i'm not mistaken he took the team lead in points with that goal. He's been one of the most consistent players on the team so far.

And now Kadri saying the Heat want to win the game 1-0 or 2-0 and then just lock it down on the defensive end.

You're right.

Apparently Street had a few offers right away on the first day of free agency. Street said he had no chance in the Pens organization because Crosby, Malkin, and now Sutter ahead of him on the depth chart.

He's pretty damn good in the faceoff dot, so I could see him playing a top 9 role with the Flames at some point.

John Rheault and Curtis McElhinney. Dominating my "around the AHL" recap.

Yup, 18 points moves him 1 up on Baertschi. With Horak's 2 assists, he moves into a tie with Sven at 17 points.

I think they've been pretty fair with their complements to Brust saying he could be a late bloomer and could be in the Flames plans. Anytime you are mentioned with Johnny Bower, it's a complement. I'd like to see him given a shot at our backup position if the season ever starts. I'm not sold on Ramo being our goalie of the future either.

Street has 6 shots on goal so far. The Marlies only have 10 total.

Did I just hear that right that all 4 goalies went through the same team in the ECHL? That's crazy if true.
