wranglers Heat do some goalie shuffling, not sure why.

I'm kind of confused as to why though. Sure Irving hasn't been great, but he's been average. Keetley and Irving have been a good tandem throughout the season.

Irving was the better of the two correct? Hopefully his progress hasn't receded.

I'm waiting to see what Ortio can do though.

Keetley has been starting a fair number of games in recent weeks to the best of my knowledge. This could be an opportunity for Irving to see some game action. Also, going into the season Keetley was battling for 2nd/3rd in the prospects order. This might be an opportunity to assess where he stands compared to Shantz (i.e. does he become disposable at the end of the season with the acquisition of Shantz).

I still don't like the fact that we traded Kevin Lalande to Columbus and picked up Shantz instead.

Wonder how Shantz will do. Every time I have seen him, he's been pretty good. Maybe it's just expected that he'll develop faster than Irving? Or maybe Irving just isn't getting as many games as they'd like (How many is Keetley playing?)...

So uhh, Shantz let in 6 goals and the Heat lost 6-1 tonight.

Yeah, but I was at the game and to be 100% honest, maybe one of those goals was Shantz's fault. The D were brutal (including two missed too many men penalties, and two missed checked from behind penalties).

Irving gave up SEVEN GOALS in his ECHL debut, Victoria loses 7-2.

I'm not giving up on Irving, but so far you'd have to say this season has been a disappointment. I definitely don't see him being ready for at least a couple of years.

I'll wait a few more games before judging what this really meant. It seems both goalies were pretty shocked at their movement...

Is it me or does it seem that Irving starts off strong at the start of the season but then his play declines as the season goes on? Seems he was like this also during his time in the dub. Curious if it has anything to do with his health. Can't remember exactly what it was though.

No, last year Irving played ALOT of games towards the end of the season. He almost single handedly snuck the team into the AHL playoffs with a crazy streak to end the season.

I'm curious as to why David Shantz is now getting all of the AHL starts above Keetley and Irving.

I know, it's all a confusing mess, but I must say, since he's been called up (minus the game he let in 7 goals), he hasn't let in more than 2 goals per game in the games he has started.
