I see this ending in the same way that Schlemko did. The Flames have too many D-men and no ice time available. He would be a great #6 for us, but with having Joki + Engelland + Wideman still, there is no room.

Hamilton and Hathaway are both right handed depth forwards that fill that void as 12th-14th forwards.

Leave Jooris alone now. I dont want him back. Id be just as happy with a Hamilton/Grant in that last F slot. Jooris is no better than a number of internal options that are already signed and ready for the opportunity.

Jooris isn't a bad player but he's easily replaceable. Knew for months now that Ortio would likely not be back. Team had to distance itself from the goaltenders that played a key role in sinking last season.

I'm glad that after this season the only horrid contract on the books is Stajan which is only 1 year at 3 million.

Smid/Wideman/Engelland/Bollig all being gone after this season will be a good thing.

The Flames can easily address the top 6 winger spot through UFA this time next year if some internal solution is not found. At this rate, starting Tkachuk on the first line RW is looking like a better option.
