There are always cheap used WiiUs for sale, and purchase a few of the games used. But I would go with the Switch, there is actually a pretty good list of games coming out over the next bunch of months.

Make sure you run the system and game update before you go!

Thanks for the tip! That would have been really unfortunate.

Pretty much. Any Zelda veteran has a healthy distrust of chickens.

Thanks to EB Games' trade-in promos, They gave me $44 credit toward MK8 Deluxe for my WiiU copy of MK8. So $36 to upgrade.

Man BotW is bad... bad for me I mean. I could play this game all day and night.

I do notice the framerate problems when playing 1080p on my monitor, hopefully they'll patch it to make it more efficient and smooth those out.

But the attention to detail is amazing, seem like so much to see and do that one could play forever.

Still getting used to weapon management, don't like that things break, but the game seems to be generous enough with the weapons and you can unlock more slots that it hasn't been overly annoying. Thank goodness armor doesn't degrade.

Saw a meteorite hit the ground far away, have to go check it out!

I don't mind that things break, but I don't like that they looked at Fire Emblem's weapon durability scale and thought "wimps".

Also, learned not to hold a sword in a lightning storm...

Woo I defeated a guardian with just a shield. You can parry their laser blasts, I think I've got the timing down.

Jim Sterling posted maybe the first honest review of Zelda I've seen. Fanboys are going bonkers.

http://www.thejimquisition.com/the-l...e-wild-review/

But seriously -- it's a good game but I don't see how anyone could call it an all time masterpiece. It wasn't even the best game that came out that week.

Apparently he was hit with a DDos attack because of his review. I read it and he touches on a bunch of things that concerned me when I was seeing previews of the game. I haven't picked it up yet but I am hoping to play it soon.

Game reviews in general are a joke though. People lose their damn minds if a game is given anything below an 8. A 7/10 isn't a terrible game.

This right here is where you raise a flag. There is no "honest" review. You agree with Sterling's opinion? Cool, thank doesn't make his review any more "honest" than GameSpot's 10/10.

Reviews are opinions. Always have been, always will be. Identify a reviewer you trust/like/find entertaining, read their stuff - agree or disagree, whatever. Nothing is right, nothing is wrong.

Yup. Sorry, OOTC, but when you get up on your high horse and argue "honest" as "someone I agree with", you are no better than those you criticize.

You can read Jim's review here, since his site is getting a smackdown:
https://web.archive.org/web/20170312...e-wild-review/

While I agree with a few of the things he says, in no way do they take the game to a 7. That's just Jim trolling, as he is known to do. The content of the review is more measured in its explanations. I don't agree with the durability complaint, the enemies are too hard complainant, or the stamina is to small complaint. I think they all work well as game mechanics.

Anyway, this is just Jim being Jim, and the internet reacting as the internet does.

Plus opinions are opinions.. If he gives Fallout 4 a 9.5 and BotW a 7, what's important to him in games is quite different than what's important to me.
