Islanders breaking the ice with big moves
Two days. Two trades.
The Islanders are the hottest team in the CPHL right now, having gone 11-0-1 in the last twelve games. Even so, trades are still being made!
Looking to deal the aging, slumping Shane Doan during the final year of his contract, the Isles shipped him, along with $3.43 million, from Brooklyn off to Washington, DC. In return, the Islanders get speedy young winger Jesper Fast, highly-regarded prospect Daniel Pribyl, and a 2018 fourth-rounder.
But the Isles weren't done. Yesterday, we hooked up with Columbus for another blockbuster. Corey Perry and a conditional third-rounder next year are off to Ohio in exchange for Patrick Sharp, Conor Sheary, and Bryan Rust.
Overall, these two deals look like this:
Perry
Doan
Conditional 2018 3rd
for
Sharp
Sheary
Fast
Rust
Pribyl
2018 4th
Welcome to Long Island, Patrick, Conor, Jesper, Bryan, and Daniel, and good luck to Corey and Shane!
