I like the gold around the logo, though it's a little too thick. Those letters/numbers on the other hand really need a white outline between the gold and black to break it up some

Didn't Canada wear them the one time, when they blew out Austria 6-0? That would of happened regardless

No, they added gold to the outline of the maple leaf after 2002 Olympic Gold then shat the bed in Torino in 2006.

Then they won gold in 2010 and 2014. Also, the women won gold in 2006, 2010, and 2014.

That means that Canada has won 5 out of 6 gold medals at the Olympics when they had gold trim on the maple leaf.

Is it true that we are going with the retros this year as our third jersey instead? If so that's awesome!

Huh, I either never noticed the gold trim on any of those jerseys or completely forgot. I had thought we only had gold on those ugly black ones from '14

God I hope so. It's a bloody shame we don't wear our retros more as I think they are one of the nicest jersey's Iv'e seen.

Really liking the gold Flyers jersey. It pops. It's completely different and new.

Wish they would go away from the mis-matched namebar. Does every new jersey they make have to have that feature? Weird that it's catching on with other teams.

According to season ticket holders who attended an event nearly 2 months ago, the retro 80's jersey will be this year's full time alternate jersey. Now lets just hope they decide to use the retro 80's home and away as their full time jerseys after this season, and perhaps come up with an entirely new 3rd jersey. The red retro has been seen a few times but the white version has not been seen since the early 90's..would love to see that one again.

There is a fan event on the 8th and I wonder if it will all be made clear then.

I think its pretty clear. Season ticket packages were sent out in the retro colours. Also some reports of certain rooms in the Saddledome being painted in the retro colours as well. In my opinion, I think it is pretty safe to say it will be a full time 3rd jersey for the 2016/17 season. That being said, the Flames will likely be donning the retro threads maybe 10-12 times throughout the season I would guess?

Nice looking jersey, but is that considered a home dark jersey or an away white jersey?

^ pretty lame Kings jersey in my opinion, especially for a 50th anniversary. If they wanted grey+black, they needed to go Gretzky era or some variation of it.

Any third/specialty jerseys are typically designed with a dark base color, so they can be worn at home. But the last time the Kings wore grey (2014 Stadium Series), they went against orange. I'd think they'd only wear these at home, and I suppose they could work against a white jersey.

In recent memory, the Capitals (white retro third) and the Flyers (50th anniversary), have gone with white-based jerseys.

In short... I have no idea what the hell will happen.
