I didn't see SCTV until the rerun period and by then, all it's stars were so familiar. Harold Ramis and Rick Moranis were in Ghostbusters. John Candy's career had taken off. Catherine O'Hara was in Home Alone. Joe Flahrety was in Maniac Mansion. Then later on, many of them appeared in American Pie.

Is the complete collection of all the shows "getable" anywhere? I have some bits, but would love to find the complete set...

As I mentioned, there are DVDs of the NBC shows and some of the Global shows, but none of the Superchannel episodes are available.

I haven't found a torrent of the missing shows. Maybe youtube has some VHS sourced eps.

Yeah, it's been about 3 years since i've done a hard search, so I was hoping that something else might have surfaced... Is there any particular reason the stuff is not available? I actually had 6 or 7 6-hour VHS tapes that I recorded, but they must have been rubbished during one of the moves years ago, and I am sure that would have deteriorated the point of not being worth digitizing...

The company that did the NBC DVD release lost money on it, so I don't think there's a big market for the show.

It's been a while since it was syndicated too. If that were to start up again maybe someone would upload episodes. I'd love for Netflix to pick it up. That would be ideal, but that's up to the right holders I guess.

Does anybody remember the other Canadian sketch comedy show from the early 80s?

Bizarre?

That still sticks with me after all these years - What's yellow and white and black and rolls around in the parking lot at McDonalds?

Actually I just watched that again and it's not exactly politically correct anymore.

Seems more likely he got the idea here, celebrity jeopardy is pretty much an exact clone.

Lawrence made his way to SNL too in the infamous Synchronized Swimming sketch with Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer .
