I started watching that, but the fact that they dumbed everything down just made it unwatchable for me.

"What are those things stacked up to make up the data center"

"Most of them are servers"

"What is that?"

"It's like a little computer and it takes data in and processes it according to some program and spits it back out again."

My 5 year old doesn't need that explained to her, I wonder how much of their audience would. Well, I guess they are American...

Kinda neat but really dumbed down.

We just started upgrading our data center (again, just did it last year). We now have 64 cores and 512GB or RAM in a 2RU chassis, crazy. AC and power will become a problem soon though.

It is kind of dumbed down, but I thought it was neat just for the video footage. I'd never seen what they look like inside.

One of my companies new aquisitions is Thor datacenter, which uses containers for its servers, also runs on 100% green energy and is much cheaper in costs due to the lack of need for powerful AC to cool the servers.
