Canucks sign Drew Shore for the remainder of the season

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the Canucks have signed forward Drew Shore for the remainder of the 2016.17 season.
Shore, 26, earned a team-high 48 points and 24 goals in 50 games for Kloten HC of the Swiss-A League this season. His 24 assists on the year ranks second on the team. In 2015.16, the 6-3, 200-pound forward appeared in two games for the Calgary Flames (0-1-1) and 59 games for the AHL Stockton Heat (10-28-38). His 28 assists led all Heat skaters while his 38 points ranked fourth on the team. In 80 career NHL games split between Calgary and Florida, Shore has collected 24 points (9-15-24) and 24 penalty minutes.

No. He doesn't have enough NHL games played this season or last to meet expansion draft requirements, nor is he signed for next season.
Looks like they are giving him a chance to earn a NHL contract for next season.

Always wanted him to succeed, seemed like such a good guy that just couldn't make that next step. Hopefully his time in Europe did him some good. Ad hopefully he plays well then earns a contract on a team that isn't the Canucks

VAN plays EDM 3 more times before the end of this season.
Shore - go and score a boatload of goals against EDM in those 3 games. It will secure yourself a contract for next season, and give the Oilers more 3 losses.
