Those frakkin’ toasters over in Hollywood are once again trying their hand at bringing Battlestar Galactica to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producer Michael DeLuca (The Social Network) is partnering with Bluegrass Films (Battleship) to develop the venerable sci-fi series as a franchise at Universal Pictures. No writers are attached to the project at this time, and little else is known about the planned iteration.

It certainly was....until I got near the end and then it totally sucked. I realize the ending may have been messed up as I think there was a threat of a strike in the final season?
But ya, first few seasons was some of the best space battles I've ever seen. Fantastic show, just wish they shortened the ending of the series by a lot.

I didn't dislike the final season as much as some... I've been meaning to sit down and watch the series again (wife bought me the bluray set) to see how it stands up a few years later. Still with it's flaws, it's heads and tail better then any other syfi series.
Why do this? They can't possibly hope to improve upon the TV movies / first two seasons of the newer show.
And yeah, to the above, the ending was just disappointing because of the expectation and contrast with the beginning. The end of the mutiny was one of the best parts of the whole series.

Yeah if I remember the writers strike messed up timing and such for the last season. It had its weak parts and sometimes I would just picture a "fitting" ending for such a dark show to be them finding Earth one...
