Default Nikon D600 (FX Format) Announced

A bit more pricey than I thought it would be based on rumours. When you're spending $2100+ for a body, another $800, for the D800, isn't that much more money to get Pro level build quality and more external control.
Though that extra $800 buys a very nice lens as well (like the new 28mm 1.8G).

Max shutter speed of 1/4000 is odd... not sure what kept them from achieving the 1/8000. It should at least be equal to or better than the D7000 when it comes to the numbers.

Can't wait for some solid reviews to circulate their way around YouTube.

So this is an entry level full frame? The start of a new line? Wonder how it will sell. By the looks of it, you're basically paying double what you would for a D7000 for pretty much just the full frame capability.

I plan on upgrading to a full frame system this fall, and I think I'll stick with the D800.
