It's a pretty bad (or awesome?) troll job actually on the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer.
The photo shopped crowd is actually pulled from the horrible repetitive 2D cardboard cutouts from Forza 5. There was a brouhaha when they downgraded the graphics from what they showed originally. The crowd is basically the same flat sample picture of 20-30 people over and over again.
Thankfully Futureshop is making the same offer as Walmart (buy an Xbox One console and receive one free game priced between $49 and $69). Going into Walmart and trying to get details on the deal was downright painful and I came away with zero information.

Xbox One Japan release has worst launch of any console in recent years Xbox One sold 23,562 units in its first week on the Japanese market following its launch in the region earlier this month — less than half of the number of Xbox 360 systems sold in Japan, Famitsu reports.
The console's launch saw the lowest in sales of any system in recent years, placing it below both Wii U and PlayStation 4 sales during the first two days of their respective launches.
Since this is the thunderdome megathread and people keep on harping about one platform's exclusives over another. Let's do this empirically and look at how each platform's exclusives are performing according to metacritic. So far it looks like Wii U by far has the best exclusive games.

Apparently recent batches of the Kinectless Xbone consoles have some coil noise issues. Getting a Kinect and hooking it up seems to fix the problem by drawing more power. Microsoft has announced that it is replacing affected consoles.
I do enjoy the Wii U but to be fair they have a year advantage

No, they aren't. Not even "technically", and that is just moving the goalposts. It isn't WiiU vs. others. it is PS4 vs. XB1 vs. WiiU.
The year advantage is the big one though. Most of Nintendo's highly ranked exclusives have come out recently. PS4 and XB1 should begin to catch up.

When you compare XBox to PS4 you leave out the multiplat because it is given they are on each of those systems and just comparing exclusives gives you the full view for what you are missing out on the other systems...for Wii U you don't get the full story when you just compare exclusives because they don't get the multiplat support that the PS4/XBone do.
So when you bring in Wii U to the equation and try to compare it to PS4/XBone you have to also look at games you can play on those systems but not the Wii U.
Destiny...NHL 15....Fifa 15....COD:AW....the list goes on and on. Those are games you can play on PS4/XBone that you can't play on the Wii U.

Not really. In fact, all three consoles want you to choose based on their exclusives. To wit, I bought a Wii U precisely because of its exclusives. I'll probably eventually get a PS4 for the same reason.

Obviously. The purpose of the chart was to count highly ranked exclusives. Once again, you are moving the goalposts by trying to broaden a specific argument into something else.

Granted. It was more of a strawman than anything else given they were trying to counter an argument not made rather than demand ever changing burden of proof.
Glad to hear Microsoft is sending out engineers to studios and getting games to run at relative parity. Looking forward to the "Definitive Edition" on PC soon.

Overall, the Xbox One version runs identically to its already impressive beta build, albeit with an added full-screen distortion effect, refreshed HUD design, and a crisp 1080p viewing window. With no performance penalty or pared-back visual settings in sight, first impressions suggest a release that very closely matches its PlayStation 4 counterpart in terms of both looks and performance - a state of affairs we're looking to fully confirm in our upcoming Face-Off.

September could be pretty big for PS4 and Destiny sales numbers. Amazon.com Best Seller to Date chart already has the white Destiny PS4 bundle outselling every Xbone console/bundle so far in 2014 after just a few days.
I wonder if Destiny can hit a full billion dollars in sales by the end of the month.
Yesterday, NPD Group revealed its figures for software sales during the month of August. As usual, Sony and Microsoft responded with statements about hardware. The most eye-catching fact was that Madden NFL 15 sold better on PS4 than Xbox One, despite a strong partnership between the NFL and Microsoft and the introduction of an Xbox One Madden NFL 15 bundle.
The second big item was Microsoft’s statement that the Xbox One doubled in sales for month-over-month from July to August. However, the numbers didn’t quite add up.
Microsoft has clarified, stating that the doubling of Xbox One sales during August were for “the last week of the month after Madden launched”. Basically, sales for the last week were a little less than twice that of the month prior, not the entire month’s sales.
It is currently unclear what the figures actually are. In previous years, Microsoft has been transparent about its sales in North America. The same can’t be said for any of the months since the Xbox One has hit the market, though. The last figure heard was that the console has five million units shipped worldwide, and that was in mid-April.
