Shulman is just so good. Three man booth is still awkward.
Nothing wrong with Buck, but Shulman is just a mile better and has that big game feel to his calls. They should just alternate color guys when Shulman is calling a game/series.

Nice response after the blowout yesterday, good win.

Smith and Osuna.
Delish.
...and what about Loupy? ERA down in the low 2's?
Not bad for a patchwork bullpen.

I love this team. I wanted to, but I'm so glad I didn't give up on them after that awful first month

With The Donaldson in the lineup the Jays are 10-5 with him having 5 home runs, 4 doubles and 9 RBI's in those 15 games.
Safe to say we can only hope he stays healthy the rest of the way.

I am going to preface this post by saying that I love russel Martin as a member of the bluejays roster. He calls a great game, has some pop in his bat, seems to get on base enough, and just genuinely seems like a good person to be around.
So question,
What is the succession plan?
Martin is getting older and has a huge salary attached to him. From what I can tell, the jays don't really have a top catching prospect in the system anywhere, let alone close(1-2 years out)
For now, it makes sense to ride Martin as we have no MLB quality backup of sorts either.
As I see it, there a few options.
1. Sign a new Cather in FA in the summer and platoon with Martin or move him somehow.
2. Status quo. Ride Martin until he either breaks down and physically can't play or see his game fall off to the point he is a replacement level player.......and figure it out then?
3. Trade for a heir replacement. Is this realistic? Some team either has a kid on the cusp or a vet that was over taken that could be available or will at some point. There isn't a huge hurry if this is the route the jays choose as Martin still fills the role well and should continue to for the foreseeable future.
Thoughts?

As far as prospects go, the Jays added Reese McGuire last year in the Liriano deal, but they also have this guy: Danny Jansen
I guess he's struggled with injuries, but had a great showing in the fall league once he got healthy, and then started out on fire this season in AA. He's cooled off recently though.
Also, there is Max Pentecost down in single A Dunedin.
He's a talented catcher but missed an entire season with shoulder problems, once back and healthy he took a year of from catching and DH'ed. I guess he's back catching partially again this season so it will be interesting to see how he does.
All these guys are pretty young, 22-23 so they will need time. Hopefully one of them steps up in the next couple of seasons to at least back up for Martin before he's done.

So Glen Sparkman is finally back and on a rehab stint. For those who don't remember he was the Jays rule 5 pick from last winter and he broke his thumb in spring training.
Also Pompey has been cleared to play again after dealing with a concussion and is also on a rehab stint.
Both guys are rehabbing in single A Dunedin

I wish Morales would give up the switch hitting. He seems absolutely useless batting right. No power at all, and seems like he's seizing a garden hose. I don't have the stats to back that up (never looked) so I could be dead wrong, but that's just the eye test I see since he's been part of the Jays.

Biagini just mowing yankees down one after another, except for 2 unearned runs because of an error, and back to back PATHETIC, softly hit but well placed doubles that lead to the 3rd run.
Annoying indeed. Stupid ####ing yankees.

Somehow he got the two most powerful hitters out to prevent six homers in a row.

They really should just put Grilli out to pasture.
He's pretty much done.

Nice inning from Barnes.
Him and Tepera really look to be turning into solid mid/late relief options.

Looks like I picked a good game to miss. Poor Grilli, such a likeable guy but struggling this year.

They need to get rid of that commercial. It must be a jinx or something.
Sanchez's fingers keep exploding and Grilli needs to be fit for a neck brace.
It has to be that dadgum commercial.

Danny Barnes has most often been terrible.
