Spittin' Chicklets: Guest Johnny Gaudreau (and Kevin Hayes)
A Barstool sports podcast with a couple Bostontonians (One is Ryan Whitney) just released a new episode today with an hour chat with Johnny Gaudreau and Kevin Hayes.
Some good content in there about Johnny getting drafted, almost being sent down after being scratched in his first year, and more.
https://www.podcastone.com/spittin-chiclets
Fun listen.

Johnny's least favourite part about living in Calgary are all the people bugging him when he's trying to have dinner

Johnny says he is looking forward to 3 on 3 with Mike Smith in net. He knows Smithy can spring him I guess!

He basically said
The best part: The fans
The worst part: The fans
LOL. It's true though, I think the instant recognition from basically all Calgarians would get pretty annoying. Hayes enjoys the relative anonymoty of a city like New York, while it actually being fun if recognized (although he said if things aren't going well, they are mean bastards).

The part where they talk about dinner with Tkachuk was quick but hilarious. "Shut up you have like 20 games in the NHL."

Such a gentleman. I'd let him marry my daughter if I had one.
"Great game out there Johnny."
"Thanks, Mr. Professor."
"Mr. Professor was my dad."
"Ha, sorry Mr. Professor."
"Oh, Johnny."
Then I ruffle his hair and we go for ice cream with my fictional daughter who is pregnant with triplets/the future Calgary Flames top line.

It was interesting when Johnny was talking about his contract negotiation last year he admitted he had limited options - was not eligible for arbitration and could not be offer sheeted. He said he was happy with his deal, but you can sense when he looks at McDavid's deal he doesn't see himself as half the player McDavid is.

I like how even the random chowderhead host of that podcast wants the Flames to go back to retro colors
