lanny Pro-vaxxer adults, are your vaccinations up to date?

Heres another post prompted by discussion with some otherwise relativley intelligent people. I was surprised that many adults dont seem to know what vaccinations theyve had and whether or not they need boosters. Most seemed to have never thought about it and assumed that their parents got them what was needed.

CPers, where are you on this? Have you confirmed that you have received any of the recommended needed vaccines or boosters and are up to date? Have you requested extras like hep vaccines? Do you make sure you get the recommended vaccines when travelling?

I made sure I was up to date before we had our first kid 3 years ago, prior to that I was a little behind on getting my DTap booster. Get the flu shot every year.

I, like the above, checked my records when my child was on-the-way.

It helped that I had to travel a bit overseas for work.

I am a pro-vaccinator, and I take a shot every chance I get (including yearly flu shots).

FYI : Adults (10+ years after Grade 9) should get a booster shot of the dTap vaccine. Pertussis has mutated slightly rendering the older vaccine less effective. Plus you want to have an boost on your tetanus protection

"Pro-vaxxer" isn't a thing. You're either anti-vaccine, or you're a normal, rational human being. Those are your choices.

the only thing that I'm not vaccinated against is Gamma Radiation, and that's because I hope to gain mutant super powers one day.

I just scheduled Tdap boosters for my husband and I. Prodded my adult sons about checking if they're up to date, particularly the married one and his wife, as they're trying to conceive and may as well be sure to be up to date prior to pregnancy. Adult daughter is fully vaxxed/up-to-date, as she had to have a couple of boosters and pneumonia x2 last year, in order to be on a specific Biologic medication.

I caught up last year. I travel quite a bit so it was time to get my Twinrix (hep) shots. The other one I got is for Shingles. Man, I've seen two people get that really bad. My one friend was off work for a year he had it so bad.

Funny Facebook post I saw today on the tumeric IV death:

Sam Lee Positive evidence for naturopathic treatment has yet to cumin. This goes beyond the basil level of pseudoscience. It's thyme to stop treating them so gingerly. These naturopaths only curry favor with the uninformed so they can take advantage and make a mint. Any good intentions they have to help are peppered with falsehoods. We must reject this as dangerous quackery to stop this asalt on evidence based medicine and hold them at bay before there is a chili effect on legitimate medicine.

Yes. How do I know? Well during my US Greencard applications I couldn't prove much of anything beyond yearly flu shots as my childhood records were destroyed in a flood.

So I got them all.

On one day.

Also then have Hep vaccination due to being on the first aid team at work.
