You can book YYC to Zurich through the SwissAir website. The Edelweiss website will only allow flights originating in ZRH. Currently about $1000 for the round trip.

Who'd have thought my post about losing some free parking would spark more discussion than announcing our first non-stop flight to China?

Because the price of the non-stop flight to Beijing is ridiculous - $1700 return. Using Air Canada (connect through Vancouver) is only like $1100 return.

This. Only the most diehard Canucks hater would pay an extra $600 to not stop in Vancouver.

Well, on the plus side you are also not flying Air Canada. The last time I flew home from Asia through Vancouver I watched out the terminal window as the baggage guy rammed the plane with a lifting vehicle, damaging the door. After 20 hours of flying, and being 1 hour from home, that was a real piss off. Another 10 hours later we finally made it home. So it might be worth it...

Air Canada has tweaked it's summer wide body flights:

LHR will now be a daily 77L. This is 2 seats more than the 789 and more premium.

YYZ will now see one daily 333 rotation! The red eye that was to be a 763 is now a 333. YYC-YYZ will still have two daily 763s as well.

So this means YYC will see all the AC widebodies except the 77W this summer.

763 two daily (YYZ)
788 once daily (NRT)
333 once daily (YYZ)
789 once daily (FRA)
77L once daily (LHR)

As a wheelchair user I would like to be a part of the trials.

Hmm, perhaps a call to them before they open for trails to let them know you are a wheelchair user. They are probably going to want you, especially if you are keen to do it.

March passenger stats out, still managing to keep an overall increase:

Overall up 2.9%
Domestic up 6.3%
Transborder down 6.3%
