I am OK with whatever decision the GM's go with here. I am looking at this as if paying for Wheeler for 1 year, I doubt I give him a new UFA deal and wouldn't pay more than this anyways. I think I give up some good assets and reasonable contracts.
I don't really like the deal for the leafs as they are taking a lot of risk for a very proven player in wheeler. That said, I still think you can argue its fair value if you disagree on the level of risk (and really like Sheary)
Not the type of move I'd make of I were the leafs but I'd still approve it.

This deal is okay, but I don't see Sheary as being very close to Wheeler. Even still, I'll say yes.
