Default Gaudreau 10th in NHL's List of Top Wingers

https://www.nhl.com/news/top-20-wing...?tid=290583266

Quote:
Gaudreau had 18 goals and led the Flames with 43 assists and 61 points last season. He also had 16 power-play points (four goals, 12 assists) and three game-winning goals. In 2015-16, he led Calgary in goals (30), assists (48) and points (78, tied for sixth in the League).

"[Wayne] Gretzky was probably the best ever of knowing where the puck was going to be and knowing where everyone else was on the ice," Lindsay said. "Johnny Gaudreau has that ability."

The 24-year-old has at least 61 points each of his first three NHL seasons and has made the NHL All-Star Game in each. Gaudreau has 204 points (73 goals, 131 assists) in 232 NHL games and won the Lady Byng Trophy as the most gentlemanly player in the League last season, when he was assessed two minor penalties in 72 games.
As with any list, the order is debatable, but that's great company. Slow summer Monday.

Hard to disagree with the wingers listed above. We are lucky to have him. Hope he has an amazing year!

I guess the secret is out about our Johnny.

I like when our players fly under the radar though. Like when the Flames made the dance in 2014 and everyone was like who the eff is this Brodie kid?

LOL at Taylor Hall 20th. IF this was a couple years ago, the Oil fans would be apoplectic. Now they would say "yeah, about right, but where's the Looch?"

I'd put him ahead of Panarin at least.

Yes Marchand is a great player, yes he had a great season, but no way he should be remotely close to the 3rd best winger

He's clearly top ten, so where would you put him? I can definitely see a case of Tarasenko ahead of him, but you're talking about the highest scorer on the best line in hockey last year.

Before last season his career high was 60 points. And he's ahead of talent like Ovechkin and Benn. He is not close to top 10 based on his career in general and at his age it will be difficult to continue to top those stats when he had his best season at age 29. Sure, based on last season he's high up there and I'd put him in the 8-10 range going into this season, but he needs to have another big season to prove his worth as the 3rd best winger in the world

I think Gaudreau is a top 10 winger. His placement seems about right.

Lots of great players on that list, but the only one that is not debatable IMO is Kane at no.1.
A cut above the rest.

Ovechkin at 6 is laughable - and I am the furthest thing from an Ovechkin fan.

I would have Johnny ahead of Panarin without a doubt. Laine too, though Laine might move ahead at some point.

That does seem just about right at his present age / spot coming off a down year.

I think he definitely has room to jump up several spots over the next few years too.
