I like the times for games 1-3, but 4 & 5 are terrible. 1pm starts out here, great.

I guess they only plan on using Sanchez once per series. Normally you would want him starting two games but they must be worried of wrecking his arm.

This is the ALCS, if that's their approach, it's kind of BS.

Those injuries in Cleveland have really tilted the pitching battle in our direction.

Maybe he was instagramming too much and they're punishing him.

What's a good place downtown to watch the Jays game tomorrow? Looking for a place with sound too since the Flames are also playing.

If the series goes 7 games, Sanchez should be available for relief. Would be on short rest but that's not a big deal if he's only out there an inning or so. This rotation also lines Stroman up for a game 7 which I don't mind at all.

Also gives you sanchez to pitch twice in WS and maybe in relief for a third time.

I think the rotation is how it is because Estrada and Happ are are most effected by time off. Stroman has been sitting since the WC game and Sachez wasn't all that great in his start.

I don't get why they wouldn't do 5 EST and 830 EST though.

That would give them the best chance at huge ratings IMO.
They don't care about Canada in general, they've made that quite clear the past two playoff years. It makes me so mad, I take it personally. Guess they're not really interested in gaining new fans north of the border, interesting approach for a business.

Dont take it personal. Its sort of Canadas fault cause they simulcast or blackout so TBS or FOX get 0 ratings.

We get 0 ratings whether or not TBS or Fox Sports are available. American advertisers don't pay those networks for Canadian viewers.

Baseball fans who just want to watch what's on will watch anyway and won't care if both games are in primetime. They may be baseball fans but they are also fans of having jobs and nobody has time to watch a 2pm game on a friggin tuesday. Team specific fans aren't gonna tune into a primtime game between two teams they don't care about so punishing them in hopes they watch some crappy matchup is totally irrelevant.
I have no idea why you are so shocked. This schedule was obvious the moment the Jays eliminated Texas. You may be tired of it, you may want to bitch and moan about it, but "ratings and business" are not excuses. They are a basic reality. The Indians @ Jays are on at 4ET and the Cubs @ Dodgers at 4PT because it gives them maximum exposure in the most populous parts of the US.

Is it ideal for us in the Mountain Time zone, 2500KM away from the nearest team still playing? No. And I am certain that Rogers isn't happy about it either. But if they want something better, they are going to have to pay MLB enough to overcome the preferential treatment TBS and Fox bought.

USA has, what, 9-10x as many people as us.. it makes sense for a business perspective to cater to their people first.

Why take it personal?

Because your post made it clear that you were both shocked and did not understand why.

It's not 1993 anymore, it really doesn't matter when they play given the bevy of options available for people to follow the game. Just be thankful ESPN doesn't have coverage of the ALCS because they would have buried this series on ESPN 3 (online only) and Sportsnet would be showing streams on live TV.

No it was the opposite actually. I made it clear I wasn't shocked and I understood.

Thanks I guess though.

I agree. However if there was no simulcast at least it would give the American networks the option to advertise in Canada. Hey there are going to be 5 million extra eyeballs. Someone creative could try something. I know it might be a 1% chance but things change all the time. But as it stands now, there is no chance.

And to be honest, Rogers wouldn't care about the Mountain time zone either.
