Default 160 GB iPod classic now a brick?

So I had a friend tell me that with his update of iTunes, the 160 GB classic is no longer compatible. Something about Apple only making max 60 GB products now and limiting the space on iTunes. I can't really find much about it online, any truth to this? I'm just about to do a big reload of my iPod and I'm worried this will bunk it. Thanks!

While I can't speak to whether or not the 160gb iPod classic works, there is a 128gb iPhone 6S which definitely works, so the 60gb max storage thing is not true...

iTunes, trolling users since 2001.

I have a 160GB that works fine, but I haven't updated iTunes in a while...

I have the current itunes (12.4.1) and my classic 160GB works fine.

I'm pretty choked they stopped making the classic though. Not sure what I'm going to do when mine craps out.

Same situation here here. I also have no idea what I'll do if my Classic dies.

I wanted to buy a Classic right before they were discontinued; now, I can't find one for my life.

Open it up and install an SD card adapter + any size SD card. Get a new battery from eBay. Put it all together and you're set with a new iPod that's actually faster than the physical hard drive.

Then install Rockbox so you don't need to use iTunes.
