Well they have no draft picks left to trade with, so it would have to be roster players and/or prospects.
You'd have a stronger top line, but potentially become significantly weaker throughout the rest of your lineup. Not sure I make that trade.

Here's something to discuss: would or could a deal go down involving Gordano for Pastrnak?

Gaudreau+Brouwer for Pastrnak+Krejci?
Ferland-Monahan-Krejci
Tkachuk-Backlund-Pastrnak
Versteeg-Bennett-Frolik

I don't think we have the assets to be in the picture on Pastrnak, but then again, I didn't think we had the assets for Dougie Hamilton or Travis Hamonic, either.
If you can get the Bruins to agree to a 1st + prospects, you do it, but I can't see the Flames moving Bennett or any of the D-core.

Bennett seems to be at an impass on his contract too. I wouldn't trade Bennett for most of the league, but for Pastrnak?
I think Backlund's coming out party last year makes a player like Bennett expendable. Trading from a position of strength to fill a need.
Gaudreau-Monahan-Pastrnak
Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik
That is as deadly of a 1-2 line combo as anyone else in the league aside from the Pens.
Bennett + Ferland for Pastrnak + Spooner
I could see something like that happen especially if the Bruins buy in to Bennett's potential.

Im sure this will ne unpopular but what about:
Gaudreau and Kylington for Pastranak and a first?
You can slide Bennett up to top line left wing with Money and Pastranak. Which is a role I think he is better suited for and it also opens up a spot for Jankowski.
Just a thought.

A hard no on moving Guadreau.
He's the straw the stirs the drink, and it would be creating one big hole to fill another.
Johnny's not going anywhere.

You are severely underestimating the value of Pastrnak.
AS the above says if you do go after Pastrnak I think you would want to keep Gaudreau.

Why?
This makes zero sense.
Gaudreau is better, why would we trade him for a worse player? And then give up Klyington as well?

I think there is an argument to be made that Bennett is basically one year behind Pastrnak. I appreciate "potential" is likely overvalued, but Bennett has 70 pt. potential while playing a tougher position to fill. I am not sure I would make that trade 1 for 1.

There are many people who might argue that, in that Pastrnak brings quite a bit more physically to the table than Gaudreau.
I don't like the idea that Boston is trading him because of his contract demands.
Hamilton wasn't traded because of his contract demands, he was traded because he didn't want to play for Boston.

If we had a 2018 first it could have been interesting to add to Bennett. But without that pick I'd say the flames are out of the picture unless we packaged a defenseman.
