Or just play the game and get loot boxes?

Or just hand over a little (a lot of) something something for a chance at non duplicated loot.

To be fair, loot boxes are a completely garbage system.

But it is amazing how well Blizzard does with them.

Personally, I think just about everything to do with the anniversary event loot is garbage, so I'm not too concerned about it, but for "collectors", not surprised they are having problems. That said, getting two loot boxes yesterday that contained five sprays and two avatar icons was a bit of a put-off.

I think a lot of the complaints revolve around duplicates and the tiny amount of currency you get for duplicates.

It is such a minor piece to the game though. It is not like specific skins give you special abilities. Its a very secondary piece. Sure it sucks when you don't look cool in game but I never understood and will never understand the uproar about loot boxes.

Dupes suck but that's not why I hate the system. If a person wants to "support" the game and buy something "cool" you can only buy loot boxes and hope you get something you want. That's stupid to me and it's a big reason why I would never spend a dime on them.

I much prefer the system Ubisoft implemented with Rainbow Six Siege. Everyone gets free maps and while you have to pay for the new characters you can do so either by spending in-game currency or money. And when it comes to cosmetics you can use that same in-game currency or you can specifically buy whatever you want with your money. Soon they'll be adding a loot system as well but it's in addition to their current system. My point is, I am not paying money to gamble. If blizzard wants my money then let me buy whatever I want directly.

Collectors are intense. Not logical, but intense.

Personally, I'm just surprised Blizzard hasn't made it so you can buy credits. That would alleviate much of the problem, though it would likely reduce Blizzard's revenue as people would buy enough credits for their desired hats instead of buying lottery tickets.

China had passed a gambling law requiring companies to list the percentage chance for DLC loot items. Leaks show Blizzard will now be adding a token (tiny) amount of credits to bypass this law now.

They're giving 120 credits when you buy 50 loot boxes to avoid the law and disclosure.

Less duplicates. More credit for duplicates.

The best thing about Lucioball is that it reminds me not to buy Rocket League. Not my style of game, at all.

Also, Widow in a bikini is a really interesting decision given they changed Tracer's pose at launch in response to complaints about objectivism.

I think people were questioning Tracer's pose moreso because it didn't really fit her character, and therefore was the objectivism really couldn't be justified.

Widowmaker and Mercy have had skimpy outfits for a while now.

Exciting news from Blizzcon with a new support hero Moira.
I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of the new map they are releasing in the new year.

Team Canada made it to the Overwatch World Cup final, but lost 4-1 to South Korea (of course).

Was kind of funny watching the Koreans flounder around on Numbani when the Canadians threw Tjorborn out on attack. heh

Some of you still playing?
I looking for some people on NA to Q with. Especially on days where the Flames play. I have to kill the time till the puck drop and EU Q after 1am is horrible.

I have 2 accs between 2700 and 3300 .

My latency on NA is still ok.

Anyone interested in watching the Overwatch league? I've been reading about it and enjoyed watching the World Cup. Seems they are trying to set it up like the major pro sports with a regular season, post-season, and all-star weekend. I will definitely check it out but was curious about other's interest.

Games start Jan 10 and look to have 3 games each on Wednesday - Saturday. Each game is projected to be 2 hours, which seems good without too much time investment. Information can be found here for those interested:

For those interested in Team Canada from the World Cup, here are the teams they are on:

Agilities - LA Valiant
xQc - Dallas Fuel
Surefour - LA Gladiators
Joemiester - Philadelphia Fusion

Roolf and Mangachu don't appear to be on any of the teams

There is an app for Android and iOS that you can watch and keep track off matches and standings, also follow certain teams. I'm following the London Spitfire and Shanghai Dragons, don't know anything about them but for season 1 they are my teams.
