Edmonton has been seeing some tough times as of late—and we’re not just talking about the Oilers. (Really, how many first round draft picks are they going to get?) Unfortunately, Edmonton’s crime rate is about as stagnant as their hockey team. The city has had a persistent problem with violent crime, especially sex-based crimes such as sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, and sexual violations against children. That being said, Edmonton’s overall crime index rating is “only” 103.9—lower than the others on this list.

Look, murder isn't funny, but in cities that are no good it tends to happen a lot.

New numbers from Statistics Canada put Edmonton at the third-highest homicide rate among large cities in the country as the homicide rate across Canada jumped 15 per cent.

According to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics Homicide Study, there were 604 victims of homicide in Canada in 2015, 83 more than in 2014. Of those 604 victims, 32 homicides were in Edmonton.

Despite this increase over 2014, the homicide rate in Canada in 2015 remains below the average rate from 2005 to 2014.

Actually I would love for the Oilers to acquire Weber. Cap hell with a close to $8M aging defenceman who they have to trade some of their few young assets for.

that one was fair, but isn't there enough to make fun of without making a murdered woman part of the mockery? that's what made it over the line to me and turned his attempt at humor into something else.

This thread isn't about humor. This thread is about Edmonton being no good.

This thread is the "Edmonton is no good" thread, not "Edmonton hockey is no good".

There are a myriad of reasons why Edmonton is no good and they should all be pointed out here.

This thread is intended to be a fun outlet for some mudslinging and what not, but bringing up things like murder rate seems well outside the spirit of that purpose.
There are plenty of no good things to talk about when it comes to Edmonton - we don't need to reach for things like that.

That is an unparalleled level of "no good" that can only come from all things labelled "Edmonton".
